Gone flat for 5k

Missed the Park run yesterday as I felt like sleeping in. Got a message from my sister at 8.45am why I didnt go for the run! Turns out she & her partner had decided to join me for the parkrun šŸ¤

As its a long weekend, I took a bit of time off from waking up to the alarm for once. This morning again I was feeling a bit lazy, so reminded myself if I dont go today, I will end up not going for weeks and be back to square one. So pushed myself out of the bed, freshened up, did the pre-run stretches & out of the door to start the warm up walk. Still wasn't feeling it so decided to ditch the hills, was done with them for this week, so turned towards the flat local park :)

Beautiful blue skies, there were a few walkers and dog walker in the park and most of them already in dark jackets and hoodies whereas I was in my shocking pink singlet and cropped tights wondering if I am the only one still feeling Summe'rish. We are only halfway through Autumn!

On the next field, I saw some people playing cricket and was relieved I am not the only one! Its still warm Summer weather if Cricket is still on instead of Rugby :)

Here's a pic.

Btw, did the 5k in 35mins 13sec. Thats an improvement in pace from last 5k run (Parkrun last saturday).

And that completes my week 5 of JJMP. Next week long run is 9k, fingers crossed for completing it šŸ¤ž

Nice run for you Me time, that is a lovely photo of the place where you run, nice Autumn day, that's somewhere in New Zealand I think, parkruns in NZ begin at 8am unlike in the UK where I live 9 in England and Wales, 9.30 in Scotland and Ireland.

How lovely to enjoy a lay in and then go out the next day and run 5k in a beautiful park, coming home with a good time too

Congratulations! I bet youā€™re proud of your 5k time. Well done. Enjoy your 9k this week. I think thatā€™s going to be my long run too this week after a bit of a break for a cold.

Iā€™m in summer brights tooā€¦scarlet red leggings today. I approve of a shocking pink singlet!
