Better run today

After procrastinating for a few hours this morning I finally got out there and ran for 45 minutes!! I had woken up stiff and aching ( not slept properly on Thursday night - just 4 hours sleep- and then sleeping for over 10 hours last night) so I did some body-tapping with Pilates balls and a few stretches until I felt looser and more comfortable.

I had breakfast and a coffee and tried to summon up some enthusiasm. Then I battled with my new headphones ( they only seem to want to connect to Bluetooth sporadically but today they were behaving). The sun was dazzling me through the net curtains so I made my mind up to get out there before i talked myself out of it.

Once out the door I was glad I had made the effort, much milder today and I ran with just leggings and a long sleeved running tee- could have run in a short sleeved one really - and was plenty warm. I ran down towards the Tarka Trail, along to the Industrial Estate, turned into it and ran across towards the Secondary School.

I then made the decision to run the long way round and make it a decent run instead of taking the shorter run back. There were several other runners out at this time. Usually when I run earlier I hardly see any other runners.

Recently I have been struggling to run for even 20 minutes, occasionally 30 but today I managed to keep going to run 5k... it DID take me 45 minutes.... and I DID have to run/ walk but Im happy with that. I think it is the combination of not walking as much as usual and also sitting around more which seems to have sapped my fitness. I have been keeping il with my Pilates but I’m used to walking miles and miles a week- several times a day and obviously we are not allowed to go out so often or so far as we would like. Im sure everyone else is the same and Im sure we will get back to fitness eventually.

In the meantime Im just doing what i can when i can and that’s all we can do isn’t it?

Well done for getting out LL. You’re right, it’s hard at the moment (I’m stuck on the sodden trails), but we do the right thing by staying local and we do our best. Most of all, we keep running! Yours sounded perfect today. 🥰

Nice walk/run for you today Limberlou, if you are on your own you can run or walk as far as you want to, last Sunday I went a 15K walk and wasn't stopped by anyone, you enjoy your running and walking as much as you like, we are allowed out for exercise, as long as it's not with more than 2 people, excluding members of your own family. 😊 🏃🏾

I thought we are only allowed out once a day ? Id like to run in the morning and then do a nice long walk later

If you are on your own I don't see anything wrong with that, although the rules in Scotland may differ from the rules in England.
