Morning runners! Happy Friday! The weekend is upon us π not that it's any different to any other day lately but hey, the weekend always feels good ππ»
First photo is today's run, il add couple more in comments as we can do that now π
It was icey, I went out, turned straight back, paced around the house a little and then thought screw it I'm going! Glad I did, changed the route up, added a lot more up hill sections and the benefit of running up hill? The downhill that gives that great spike on my split times π€£ (down ormesby bank for those in the know π) A really fresh, relaxing run that I'm happy I did and added some nice Kms to the Gazelles Distance Count for January! (Needs a snappier name π€£)
Speaking of which, il add my records in a picture in comments for all to see bit today marked run 8 of January and brought up 78km π not bad at all for half way point, also the halfway point of me doing dry January, been surprisingly easy π
I hope everyone is having a great day and hopefully some great runs πͺπ»
EDIT:the options to add pics in replies seems to have gone, oh well 78km so far in Jan was the important one.

What a way to kick off a Friday Jericho2332 π bring on the weekend
Amazing. Youβre smashing your targets almost every run and every step of the way. So impressed. π I bet youβll feel increasingly lighter with Dry January, which should add an added spring to your gazelle legs.
Thanks Gail, I'm certainly trying ππ» I'm feeling lighter but not actually getting any lighter π€£ despite all the running, working out on non run days and watching my diet I've only dropped a couple of lbs since I started, I've hoped my game lately with the diet though and the no booze so hopefully see results soon ππ€π»
Be patient. We know that starting exercise tends to add weight (as muscle). The βfeelβ is the best gauge rather than the scales. You got that! π And youβve got the fitness too! π Already amazing results. I know some suggest going by tape measurements of waist, thighs, etc. Since starting c25k, I can see and feel changes, and kick myself for not starting out with a set of baseline measurements. Sustainable diet changes are best seen in medium and long-term, so I think you can just applaud yourself for making the changes. Anyway, βlightnessβ can be in the feel and in the step!!!
I guess weβre all different, but both M and I dropped half stone just by cutting out/ back the booze. Unbelievable - but Iβm still on Dry January 2019. I hit my 750-day sprint yesterday!!π Made such an amazing difference. Benefits all the way, but for me they really kicked in after a few months.
Wow that's amazing! Well done πͺπ» yeah I think sticking to this routine for a few months will see me noticing the difference. I did the measuring tape around my middle, that was one of the things that shocked me into starting c25k a few months back π€£ i wear a 34" waist clothes wise but my middle measure (round the belly button) was coming in at closer to 42 when I was fully "relaxed "π€¦πΌββοΈπ€£ it's down to about 40 now so it is happening π I'm sure the excess lbs will follow soon.
Blimey, 78km's already, that's good going, i'm lagging a bit behind, although thinking of a longer run today, which will help the total, it's dry out, down here, but expecting some big puddles about π€£ your times, well π₯΅ i'm usualy around 7/8 mins per km, oh well! π€·ββοΈ oh, and hills, i still try and avoid, if i can! π€£
I doubt your far behind Peter, you've been crushing those KMs so far this year πͺπ» my times are odd even when I'm running slow there still fairly quick lol sounds like you've avoided the ice down there so a nice run today for you hopefully π€π»
You are also doing fantastic, P! π¦π¦π¦ My mileage is much lower ... The week off didnβt help + my plan is to develop my approach to breathing, which sort of means going backwards in terms of distance and pace while I reacclimatise (itβs like Iβve just slid down a biggish snake on the board game!) πππ¬
Big puddles in London park today, but no ice (it was early and cold). Plan to batch report 3 runs on Sunday.
Blimey, that long snake, right at the end, just about to win, then down you go! π€£ loved board games, as a kid. βΊ I asume my breathing is ok, is actualy a big help running with someone, and talking all the way!
Yep, mineβs fine too, when combining nose and mouth. Itβs a whole different thing with full nasal breathing. Idea is that you build back up and will ultimately be stronger and more efficient. Weβll see if it works for me or not, but itβs not something to decide quickly. Have to give it the time it needs. Figured: in for a penny, in for a pound. Essentially im retraining. π¬π€·πΌββοΈ
Ummm, think i'd get fed up too quickly, i remember in c25k, laura was telling me to take a breath, and count four strides, i think π€·ββοΈ but soon gave up! π€£
Well, I am still sitting at my computer working in my running kit π€£π€£(having run nowhere, I might add) and seeing your latest run and splits has reminded me how great running is and I must get out there SOON. Maybe not to smash out a run like yours but...blimey, you are motoring these days, seriously impressive stuff πͺπͺ I love that you went out, came back and went out again! Now that is commitment. So, it seems 12km is the new 10km with you boys hmm...? I am feeling very much in the 5-6km run bracket after a week of long hours work but who knows.. With your sterling run in mind, I will get out at some point and sure this is going to keep me on my toes π¦π¦π¦
I have the benefit of nothing but free time at the minute so making the most of it π€£ it beats all the housework and DIY I'm having to do the rest of the time π€£π€£
Hey, Runforurlife, get on those shoes! The weather is looking bright(ish) - so presumably for you too - and youβll be much sharper at that digital-interface as a result. π¦π¦π¦
