Hard Way Home

It was a sunny morning so I got up, put my running gear on and went out for a little run. Still feeling heavy and tired after a mental night of very little sleep and plenty of pain ๐Ÿ˜•so ran slowly.

Made a detour to run up my 'pet hate' steps (as opposed to my pet hill) to develop my up-hill stamina then turned for home only to find the way firmly closed, so had to run a longer way back and the route included that hill called 'The Beast'. Slowly inched my way to the top of that tightly clenching my buttox to try and activate those lazy glutes (following a conversation with a fellow runner and a laugh trying to do one-legged squats without falling over).

Another 6.5km added to my yearly total. 24km still to do before the end of the month...

Brandi Carlisle recorded a great song called Hard Way Home. Find it on YouTube.

Oops! I've had towpath detours for fallen trees blocking the way. Any idea why your path was closed?

It looks as if that bridge is about to fall into the river if anything over the weight of 2 stone crosses it.

Good run for you today apart from the detour because of that dangerous bridge,

Ah. Not that visible on my small screen. Now you mention it, it does look a little bit rickety.

I have three devices that I can look at the photographs that are posted to C25K and any other sites as well, my Smartphone, Laptop, the laptop is connected to my 37" television, hence the reason that I noticed that rickety bridge which looks that it could fall down at any minute.

But only one end of it ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

The bridge wobbles if you run over it, and I don't think it's supposed to!

I don't think many of us could argue with that sign and barricade! Well done you and all the best with your 24km before the end of the month. What km total are you aiming for this month?

700km for the year, so 350 by the end of June. I was hoping to get ahead during the summer so I could take it easy if the weather's bad during the winter, but we're still waiting for summer...

That reminds me that I had to do a detour for my week 9 run 3.

But not a closed path - it was full of golfers queuing to get to one of the tees. Any other day I would have waited, but this was The Big Day. I had to keep running. :)

Wow that sounds like a hard but effective workout! That path looks very inviting apart from the fact that it is closed haha!

Hills.......I just cling to the hope that they will do me good in the end.....wouldn't have one for a pet though....too demanding and take up too much space!! Nice run BTP. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Very demanding. Will they ever get easier? Running got easier really quickly; squats got easier really quickly, what's going on with these hills?

I'm not good with heights, I might only make it to about 3 rungs up. Still, better than being on the ground ๐Ÿ‘

My comment was about me on the bottom rung... mixed up between two threads of comments! Doh๐Ÿ™„

I did some stretching with help from a friend. Effort against resistance for a count to 10, then stretch and repeat. It seems to have worked wonders. I'm v happy ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
