Another long one but had to grind out the second half

After a very lazy weekend up to Sunday lunchtime I had to force myself out to do a planned long run prepping for my 10 mile race in 2 weeks.

A new route saw me heading north out of Dinnington to Horton Grange where a left turn took me climbing up the long slow incline up to Berwick Hill.

However, as all runners know for every uphill section there is (usually!!) a nice downhillhill bit and this was certainly the case as a 2km drop saw me head into Ponteland, land of Range Rovers and Waitrose πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

As I headed up towards the airport the legs were really beginning to ache and the final 5k, past Prestwick and back to Dinnington were a real dig deep effort, I had to walk up the final hill.

Nevertheless another long one in the bank and the adrenalin of an actual race usually helps so very much looking forward to 2 weeks today.

Well done to everyone who got out this weekend.

Run happy, run safe.

Well done on that long run Chris. You dug deep, and have that in your running bank. Stronger and tougher...😊xxx

Is that the Waitrose with the worlds steepest car park? That would explain the range rovers.

Nice run and good mental strength

Don't think so!!, it's just that Ponteland is rather well to do!!!

Amazing run Chris. Digging deep must mean digging super deep on a run of that length, especially with nasty hills - so very well done you! Hope the race goes well. πŸ˜€πŸƒ

Wow that’s a long run ChrisAllen. I can’t imagine running for 2 hours. Mind you I think I said that about 30 minutes and 1 hour! It sounds like you’ll do really well in your race.
