Didn’t get out for a run yesterday so was determined to go today. Got my husband to drop me in the village thinking that the pavement will have been gritted and I would get a 5 k in. No such luck! They may have thrown down some gravel but it was still like an ice rink! I was watching my feet all the time, dodging from one side to the other to get on the best looking parts. After 2.4K I decided that I would just stop. Hospitals will be overwhelmed with people who have fallen. Our village has a high rate of senior citizens and the ones I saw looked like they were tiptoeing through the tulips!
Rant over.

You were very wise on not continuing with your run due to the very icy conditions, I was reading that there are many hospitals that have been overwhelmed with people falling when WALKING, enjoy your runs once the weather gets milder.
Its not worth it Womangolfer. Our pavements are a disgrace and haven't been touched yet with any grit at all. So I've not ran since Saturday. Even taking the dog out for a walk is a task. 😊😊
Very sensible of you, just not worth it with the current cold temperatures and ice. I've just walked round our fields to see if they give a better option. Happy running 🤗
Hmm..you were very sensible not to carry on! I know it’s disappointing but it’s 2.4k more than you would’ve done if you’d have stayed at home...your next run is waiting for you when the ice has gone and you’ll enjoy it so much I’m sure ☺️
