Just a brief post to say a huge thank you to all of the wonderful caring people on this forum who responded to my recent post.
It really meant a lot and I was overwhelmed and in tears when I read each of your replies.
I am so genuinely grateful to you all for your compassion, kind words and support. I really mean that.
Some of you may recall a previous post of mine regarding a 10 mile run I did before work recently for the Salisbury 10 mile virtual run, well my medal and tee shirt arrived in the post this morning which was a nice surprise, a photo of both are above . The tee shirt was a medium as that’s all they had left, but it actually fits me really well.
Thanks Again Everyone and fingers crossed for a happier and healthier 2021

Thank You Bambi 😊 the shirt and bling we’re really nice to receive in the post. Makes you feel like hibernating the way things are at the moment, I’ve stopped watching the News, too depressing. Virtual races give us a chance to obtain bling from far flung places I suppose, so not all bad.
Those virtual races look quite tempting now I can run for longer than 60 seconds 😁 - was looking at the end to end south coast virtual run 630miles- are they quite easy to get registered and log miles?
630 miles 😮 I’m not sure about that one, I’m still a Newbie myself. I did the Vitality London 10,000, which was a 10k, the Salisbury 10 Mile one and a 50 mile December Challenge I set myself on Race at Your Pace..... that’s it for me so far, I would imagine if you Google it, it’ll give you step by step instructions and you just screenshot your evidence and send it to them. Good luck if you decide to tackle it 👍
🫂Thinking of you my friend, here for you. Well done on your bling, I remember your post. Well done on your amazing achievement! 10 miles is my next goal. Although how you ran 10 miles BEFORE work is beyond me, you must be superhuman, I’d have gone straight to sleep after that I think. You are quite the inspiration. Glad the T-shirt is a good fit, well done, keep on running 🏃🏽♀️🏆
Thank You Catho 😊 I appreciate your kind words, believe me running 10 miles before work was a one off, but worth the effort. I’ve got my Race at Your Pace medal to look forward to next for the 50 miles I completed in December. I’m like a big kid when it comes to running bling.
Thank You Grannyhugs, I was overwhelmed by the kindness and support I received, very moving and it’s helped me a lot....what a great bunch you all are on this forum 😊
Kind words cost nothing but mean so much. Take time for you and do what you feel is right. Its hard at the moment but does get easier. Take care. 🙏Alyson
I bet that little delivery cheered you up no end! I remember your post, that desperate pre-work dash in the pursuit of a bit of bling! 😁Very nice looking medal and Tshirt though.
It did 😁 and the shirt fits ok, which was a bonu. I must have been mad, it’s a lovely medal though and shows what you can achieve if you put your mind to it. Race at Your Pace Medal next, something to look forward too. You take care too and thanks for your kind words and continued support.
You are welcome.I signed up for Race at Your Pace too after your post. Opted for the 25 miles but today's run took me over the 35 mile marker. Pretty happy with that 😁
Oh that’s good, well done, their medals look great and their running tops are very reasonable. It’s nice to set yourself a challenge with a medal to look forward to. You can alter the distance, but I know on the December one you only had until 25th to change it. They’ve got 10% off in January I believe. I’ve got too much going on at the moment, but definitely going to do some more of them in future 😁
I missed your previous post, I've only just read it so just dropping a line here to send you a big hug and loads of healing vibes. Running is such a powerful tool to help us through the darkest of times! Well done on completing that challenge, getting another bit of bling and also fitting into a medium t-shirt! 😃 And here's to a more positive, happier and healthier 2021! 🤞
Thank You for your kind words Beatlesforever 😊 Running definitely helps during the tough times and a nice bit of bling for all your hard work is definitely a bonus. I was surprised the medium shirt fitted, I thought it might look like a crop top, but it’s ok......stay safe 👍
I haven't been on the forum for a few days so missed your post but I just wanted to send you my love and best wishes as you go through this very difficult time. You're always there to cheer everyone else on the forum on so I'm sure you're in many people's thoughts. Just take each day as it comes and take care, though I appreciate that is often much easier said than done. A massive congratulations too on your 50 miles in December, that really is such a big achievement
Aahhh thank you Pnegirl 😊 I really do appreciate your kind words and support, it is painful and it’s going to take time but I have many happy memories of a great childhood.
Looking forward to my Race at Your Pace Medal and I bought one of their long sleeved running tops too, I’ll put a post with a photo when they arrive.
That’s lovely things to arrive in the post, thinking of you and wishing health for you and yours in 2021 Keep running my friend, it’s your time to process your world
This is a great place full of good people, you as much as anyone. You encourage and congratulate people constantly, so it’s only right you get words of kindness and support when you have such sad news. I hope 2021 is better for you, and if you need anything then please feel free to message me
That’s very kind of you and very much appreciated, I mean that...thank you. I love to encourage people and see them do well and I know you do to, it’s very rewarding. Let’s hope 2021 is a much better year for all of us.
No worries at all 😊 In the past I’ve found it hard to be positive and encouraging towards others, but after everything that’s happened this year I’m determined to be more positive and kind towards others. I really have enjoyed watching others smash through challenges they never thought they could, it’s a great thing to be a part of.
We’ve been there and can empathise with their trials and tribulations (what is a tribulation 🤔) it’s nice when they say, I took your advice and it worked, I did it..thanks very much. Running gives people something positive to focus on and takes their mind off everything that’s going on, so that has to be a good thing.
Yeah exactly. I’ve loved watching people go through the discovery period I went through, thinking it can’t be done and then suddenly realising that anything is possible. I’m so happy to have found running and this forum
Its an usual design, nice though, I think that arrow would have got me moving a bit quicker during the last mile as I was running on empty by that stage 🥵
