Well, after getting to M&S in my running gear at 6am this morning to avoid the Christmas queues 😳 (I didn’t, there were 50 in the queue when I got there.. mad!), manic food shopping and getting home, putting away.. I really wanted to get out for a run.

As I’d already been up for 2hrs, I really had to have something to eat so had a single Weetabix and waited for that to digest before heading out. It’s very mild and damp here in SE London/Tier 4-land, massive puddles everywhere. Within 5mins I was really glad I’d worn my winter running waterproof jacket (not).. outfit misfire again!

Crikey, this run was a slog! Even after 2km, I wasn’t really getting into it and knew if I reached 5km that would be good enough today. My knee was niggling and my legs felt like lead 😫 By 4km, I think the inside of my jacket was wetter than the outside and I was HOT 🥵 I felt like I was going glacially slow but actually my time was not too bad though I’ve done better 5km’s. This was a classic meh run!!! But it’s job done and now time for a mince pie and an espresso ☕️

I’m impressed you battled M&S and a run all in one morning! It’s funny how those meh runs still pop up when you least expect it - but that’s another good 5k in the running bank! Enjoy your mince pie and espresso ☕️ 🥧 😋

Thanks! You’re so right, meh runs have a horrid tendency to pop up when you’re not expecting them 🤔 I’m feeling flaked out now after my morning exertions! An afternoon nap on the cards 😂

Oh dear! Some runs are just never meant to be... and best forgotten ASAP. On the plus: you did it + the mince pie counts as a square on the bingo card!

You made me chuckle again, getting to m+s at 6am, in your running gear, that's dedication for you! 🤣I picked up my xmas dinner from there, this afternoon, pre-booked, so was able to skip the queue.

Sounds like your run was one of those harder ones, but you still got out there, rain and puddles too, lets hope for some 🌞 over xmas!

Hope you have a good one! 🎄🎅🎄🎅

I am a dedicated, if slightly disorganised, runner 🏃‍♀️ I was juggling one too many things this morning and the run suffered a bit but glad I got out there anyway even if my face on that last I’m was 😫

Run done that's the important thing 👌🏻 get the meh one out of the way and hope for a better one next time out 🤞🏻 I also chanced the shops today...for 48 bottles of beer in case the 60 I got delivered from Amazon don't last me 🤣🤣🤣

Well done on the run even if it was meh! They tend to sneak up on you when you’re out of routine. Have a fantastic Christmas R4UL 🎄🎅🦌🦌
