A post winter storm Bingo run❄️✅✅❄️

We were in a winter storm warning today resulting in most of my colleagues leaving work early due to blowing snow and treacherous roads while a few of us townies held down the Fort. I got home from work down in the dumps, figuring my planned run was a no-go given the wind was still just a howling. So I made supper while hubby poured me a drink. We had a pleasant supper then he went outside to shovel show while I retreated to my office for my meditation practice. I noticed during my meditation that I couldn’t hear the wind howling anymore so I peaked outside and surprise, surprise, it looked relatively calm! I quickly geared up and headed out with a reindeer in my pocket (Rudolph perhaps....since I gave him a red nose 🎶🎵✅) and slipping and sliding my way through the snow drifts searching for some festive Christmas lights. This house had a lovely dancing light display to music but unfortunately the picture doesn’t do it justice. It is the most festive house in my neighbourhood though so it will have to do for my festive bingo ✅. I got home after 5.25km, legs tired, sweaty, knees a little tender from the unstable footing but my mood is elevated. I’m still not feeling the Christmas spirit today but I am one step closer to a completed bingo card - 2 more down and 2 to go. I’m not sure if I will reach 25 walks and runs this month but I’m sure going to give it an honest try!

It is amazing the effort people go into for beautiful displays of Christmas Festive light displays in their gardens and sometimes even on the roof of their homes, I notice Winnipeg has also got a blizzard warning and also blowing snow with a wind chill temperature of - 14C due to the strong winds.

That was great that you eventually got out for a run after conditions improved and took those very nice photos, you say you are not feeling the Christmas Spirit but have two more to go until you complete a bingo card, I am sure you will find that you get that Christmas Spirit feeling come back very soon as it gets nearer to Christmas 🤶 🎄 Day.

The weather in the UK on Wednesday morning is very mixed with 12C temperatures in the south of England to 0C in Scotland but by Christmas Day its to be a bit colder everywhere but no snow.

There was an even more spectacular light display in a different area of town, but it was much too far for me to run in the evening so I was glad I found this one. I can only imagine the money people spend each year to do this but it sure is nice to see.

The winter storm warming was quite widespread so I'm not surprised it has made its way to the Winnipeg region. It is nice to have some fresh snow for Christmas. That combined with a few days off may help to find the Christmas spirit again.

Brilliant Running Sask, I guess you needed that run, it sounded part medicinal 👍 hope it lifted the spirit 🤞 you do have the most wintry wonderland scenes to to run in ( wales is still wet!!)

Nail that bingo card gal you can do it 💪💪🎄

Thanks Ian. It was quite therapeutic. 30ish more hours of work and then I should be able to have a few days off. That will also help 😴🥃☕️🍪🍨🍗❄️☃️

I love looking out for all the decorations and sparkly lights. Some people make a huge effort but they do make me smile which is what it’s all about I guess 🙂

It does bring a bit of joy to see all the pretty decorations. Some bring a smile and some make me laugh, it is all appreciated.

Just looking at your photo makes me feel festive 🎄🎅 I cannot imagine running in those conditions, but I guess living there if you want to run you have to get used to it.Pouring rain all day for me ☹️

Right about now, I prefer snow to rain, but come Spring, I enjoy a nice solid rain. Of course, I live in quite a dry area so rain is a treat. I'm sure it gets old after a while though.
