Well if anyone had told me on the 23rd June I would have just ran 10k I would have doubted their sanity! But thats what I have just done😁
I was slow 1 hr 30 but I did it. Not just that negative splits🤣6 months ago I didn’t even know what that was😂😂😂
I have followed the Garmin 10k training plan with coach greg. All week I have doubted my ability to do 10k 6.7k was my longest run.
It was a gorgeous morning bright and cold. Set off with no aim to beat any land speed records😂ran past the academy and up mount hell(Strava segment names not mine)the gremlins started whispering at 2 miles but I beat them away.
Tried not to get to annoyed at the guy who kept walking in my path. I thought I would struggle with the hill at the end but didn’t notice it! I still felt I could run on at the end. The only down side was Strava recorded 9.99km😡
Thoroughly enjoyed myself just cant believe this is me.
To anyone out there doubting themselves dont. If i can do this so can you
Stay safe and happy running all xxx

You can do it. I am slow but consistent. Took 3 months to get to 5k another 3 to 10k. June 1982 was the last time i ran any distance 10 miles in 145 minutes. i am quicker now at 53 🤣
That’s so brilliant. Tackling JuJu’s magic plan is one of the things I might do in the new year. I was just reading an art ton running (such now is my life!) which emphasises that consistency is by far the most important aspect... Sounds like you’d nailed that!
Congrats on your 10k 🥳🥳 I ran my first 10k this morning, too!! It’s a great feeling isn’t it and to think where we’ve all come from, barely able to run 10mins.. Go us!
Well done. I have done a couple of 10ks in the last month. I started c25k in June at 56 years old and wanted to vomit after 60 seconds. It's an amazing feeling isn't it? Well done us!! X
Congratulations on your 10k , that’s brilliant. Yes, Garmin downloads to Strava always seem to come up a bit short so I always go a little further just to make sure Strava gets the full km.
Love this, brilliant run and all those things displayed here that will keep you running!! Be super proud of you. No worries about pace though. If you get there and it is as comfy as you can make it then all the better. A huge well done on a milestone run 👏👏👏👏👏
Well done Smile23. What a great run. Strava seems to round distances down so it would probably have been 10k on another platform. It's such a great feeling to achieve something you didn't think was possible a few months ago. I'd call that a sensible time for a first attempt 😊
Congratulations on your 10k, massive achievement, i know just how you feel, having done my first 10k, last week, and pretty much the same time as you, i seem to have found a nice, slowish, comfortable pace! I also, cant believe i'm doing these sort of runs, when, 3 and 5 min runs, were hard work, not so long ago! 🥵Anyway, i bet your still smiling, even a day later, what's next for you now?🤔
I am positively elated for you. I am doing my third 10K today. I am also doing them at 1:30 minutes or so. I feel like my heart gets a great workout. I can’t believe we ran for an hour and a half, can you?! Holy cow!!!
