So, when do we stop calling them consolidation runs? 🤔

Quite a mixture this week, started of on monday, with a normal sort of run, different route, including a bit of the canal, wednesday ended up a bit further, as you know! 🤣

Today, just a short, 30 min run, although increased the pace a bit, very wet, and windy here, went past harry potter, i think, as the rain was making it hard to see!!! 🤣

Cant believe I actualy just said, a short 30 min run, i thought 5 min, was hard, not that long ago! 🥵

Anyway, will have 2 days rest now, hope the weather is better for your weekend runs. ☺

When you start moving to 10k 🤣

I don’t actually know when you stop calling them that. I’ve lost count of my runs, so they’re now just runs. 😁Ran 30 minutes this morning, I’ll run again Sunday and look to heading for the 10k. Any plans/suggestions would be great. You’ve inspired me!

I used Ju-Ju's Magic Plan to get to 10k and can wholeheartedly recommend it. See healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...

Blimey, asking me for advise! 🤣Like Cmoi says, probably best to follow a proper plan, i was just adding a bit to each long run i did, keeping it very slow, but then got a bit carried away on wednesdays run! 🤣 it's just nice to do what feels good on the day!

Still have to pinch myself, that i'm actualy running!!! 😀

Hi, only just seen this as not getting notifications through since the google outage - emailed and sorted now I think. I’ve done the same- been out tonight and kept it to 5k -want to keep some short and a few longer as I don’t want to push my luck and get injured by doing too much. I’ll be out again Sunday for a little birthday run 😁You’re doing great! 👍🏻

I had same problem with e-mail notifications, seems ok now. It's mad, how we call 30 min/5k, short runs! 🤣 i'm the same, dont want to over do things, will probably have 2 days rest now, still a bit stiff, from the 10k on wed.

Hope you have a nice birthday run! ☺

Ju ju’s plan goes with 2 short and then 1 long run so that seems like a sensible mix. I can feel the difference adding more distance-having a couple of very gentle aches is probably good as they are reminders not to go daft- I think I’d go crazy and rip the pants out of it otherwise! 😁

Good few runs there! Well done 😀Weds you just outdid yourself! So funny we now say "just a short 30min run" 🤣🤣🤣 Remember that feeling on Week 9, 30min run...not sure that's going to be possible etc LOL

I know, it's mad, blimey, 30 mins running, non stop, in the early weeks of c25k, was 🥵🥵🥵, now look at us! 🤣

Think I’m getting addicted to this running lark 😬 I was out this morning and I’m already planning another run tomorrow morning. Ooops!!

Reflecting on just some weeks go is a great things when it shows so much progress :)

... and the 10k plan is waiting for you!

Yes, seem to have come a long way, in quite a short space of time. 😀

Good question, I have no idea😂 I did lots of runs in November for charity, then went on to JuJu’s plan .

You right, a 5k short run seems mad to say, thinking back to C25K when getting through that was challenging.

You have achieved so much with this running lark 👍🏻💪😊

I think we've all achieved so much, from where we all started, not that long ago!!! ☺

I actualy forget what number i'm on sometimes, i know i'm about the same as bambi, saves me looking at my calender! 🤣 although i only started c25k, 15 weeks ago, which doesnt sound that long! 🤣

I'm longing for the day when I can say I completed a 'short' 5k run!!! I'm at CR 8 and can only get to 4.5k in 40 minutes. I have to remind myself that I couldn't run for even ONE minute at the beginning so all you guys are keeping me motivated - you've all done so well - I'll get there!🐌

I think your doing great, same sort of pace, as me really, yesterday i ran for 30 mins, and didnt get to 4k 🤣🐌 and like you say, most of us probably struggled with the early c25k runs, and now look at us!!! 👏👏👏

We'll both get there sometime I'm sure!

I would say you stop calling them consolidation runs when (if) you want to do a little bit more. Highly recommend the magic plan. I did timed and moved on to distance as I'm quite slow but it's a plan you can do in your own way and own time.

Good luck and happy running.

I was looking at the magic plan, and might still try it, even though i did a 10k, last week, slightly unplanned 🤣 or maybe just do two shorter runs, and a longer one, seems to be working so far.

Lifluf profile image
LiflufGraduate10 in reply to Peter44

Even better. There's a great sense of freedom when you can just do the run you fancy. This site has lots of other random challenges that you can commit to if you want to. The lovely admin people come up with ideas on a regular basis.

Yes, since graduating, although c25k, is a brilliant programme, it's quite nice, to just go out and run, and just see how it feels, like we know, some are still hard work! 🥵 the people on all these forums, are so helpfull, friendly, and supportive, probably as we all know, how it felt at the start! 🥵

😁 Good question there, P... especially as you push towards the 20 mark. Guess it’s all relative, and we’re always ‘consolidating’ to some degree. But it does come into focus as one writes a post... the title box seems to ask for it. If one was, eg, on the magic plan, then there’s be something clear to put in the title box because you’d be staging your way through the training.

Where do yo think you will go next?

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to GailXrunning

Yes, we need a title 🤔 well, i was going to do the magic plan, not sure about the short 15 min run though, i know it's designed to make you stronger, i guess. I think i'll stick to doing 2 shorter runs, and one longer, but for now, keep it to maybe 7 or 8k, to build up a bit! Then i suppose, it will be, looking at 10 miles!!! 🥵🥵🥵How is M today? 🤔

GailXrunning in reply to Peter44

He seems to be doing well. 😄We’ll find out exactly tomorrow morning. It’s one thing to sit around; quite another to run.🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻
