Well, where did that come from, had set my nrc to 5k, did my harry potter route backwards, which means an almost 1km incline, at the start, which slowed me down massively π₯΅ probably my first proper climb up a hill, so didnt have any thoughts, of a longer run, but once i got onto the flat, it felt fine, and i just got into it, 5k, got me by the canal, and thought, why not, so kept going, along to the m25 bridge, then back, went past 6/7k, still felt good, so forest gump took over, get going along canal, towards another m25 bridge, in opposite direction, was on 8k now, well just thought i'd give the 10k a shot, while in this quite comfy feeling, who knows what's around the corner, with covid about!!! My music was playing, a jim steinman/meat loaf song, what part of my body hurts the most! π€£ as i got to 10k, so far, not too stiff!
Anyway, never thought i'd be running, and enjoying these sort of distances, a few months ago, so a big thumbs up to the c25k programme, changing my life, for the good!
P.s when i say running, should really say shuffling!!! π

WoW Wow WoW πππππππππ Peter this is bloody amazing and bloody wonderful. You are really flying now Forest. Really, really pleased for you. Just no stopping you now. You must feel greatπͺπͺπͺπͺ. πππ
Hello lurverly, been feeling pretty sorry for myself unfortunately, I have to admit. It's amazing how much the back to running bug got to me. As I said to Peter, there are a lot bigger problems out here than my not being able to run. I really, really miss running and am really gutted that I'm on the IC. My hip still aches and neck and shoulder just ain't right. Missing being a part of our running family...pleased to see how much your all progressing ππππͺππ. Really my biggest concern at moment is should I meet up with my daughter next week, my grandson had Covid couple of weeks ago. I'm torn between missing them so much and being "sensible". Not a running issue I know...I know ultimately sense will prevail. Hope you're good honeyππ. πππ
Iβm so sorry to hear that, but entirely understandable. You were clearly so thrilled to be returning to running; it must be hard then to be halted in your tracks. I hope you are able to get a proper check-up by an expert. Sometimes these things just pass of their own volition after a rest, but itβs good to get a professional opinion.
For us, next weekβs arrangements were always clear, so thankfully there are no decision dilemmas to be faced. At least things are beginning to look up... maybe in 6 months weβll have some bit of normalcy (just maybe?).
Congratulations on your first 10K. Shuffling is good and the right way to go for your first. We are all shufflers here when compared to the elite athletes. So your in fantastic company.
Thanks, but if you'd told me 14 weeks ago, i'd be able to run/shuffle, for 90 mins, i'd have laughed at you, so you just never know, it's in there somewhere, i'll look out for your 10k post! π
Woah! Watch out Jericho, thereβs a new 10K kid on the block!! πββοΈ What an achievement - thatβs amazing!!!β What are we feeding those gazelles this week- they are on fire! π₯ π¦ Now you get a swanky badge upgrade and youβve only had the other one less than a week- big, big big congratulations!! ππ»ππ»πππ¦π¦
Thanks, run today, felt just like yours yesterday, feeling pretty comfortable, and thought i'd make the most of it, because, the next one, might just be a π₯΅π₯΅π₯΅!!!
Woaaaahhhh!!! 10k klaxon π₯³π₯³π¦π¦ That is amazing, congrats on your first 10k!!! What a fab run, sounded like it all came quite naturally and apart from the initial incline, your shuffling certainly got you there and without too much drama. Bloody well done and you should be so proud of yourself getting to the magic 10k already. I mean, wow.. Gumptastic!! You and Jericho are certainly leading the way in inspiration for Team Gazelle π¦π¦ Hope the PB glow has kept you glowing all day. Another milestone reached and not even a week since you got your last badge! ππ
Thanks, it's mad really, probably should have done an 8k first, after my 7 last weekend, i know they say about only increasing by 10%, but, a bit like bambi's run yesterday, just felt right, and thought why not, do feel a bit stiffer than normal, to be expected i guess, will keep the next few a bit shorter! π€£
Great run! Well done! Shouldn't be too stiff if you did some stretching at the end and went at a comfortable pace. c25k has done so much good for so many people and now you're in the 10k elite group π
Hi Peter π just seen your post and wanted to add my congrats on your first 10K - if you look behind you you'll have to squint to see the couch WAY back there ππββοΈπππ
Wow, don't you just love it when that happens. I'm finding I'm really enjoying the 10k,'s cause my mindset is "just go slow and enjoy it" And I definitely do. Keep up the good work. π π―ππͺπββοΈ
Massive congratulations to you on your running your first 10km, that is fantastic ππππ π . You must be so proud. Loving your sparkly badge πππ
