This is by way of an introduction of sorts, since I'm new here. I've been in the C25K community for years but since this summer have returned to more serious (i.e. regular) running and have found 10K to be a good distance for me. The other pirates hate it of course, me banging on about gait analysis and the Toxic 10 when I should be robbin' treasure an' pillagin', whatever pillagin' is.

During lock down I qualified for my bus pass, a reward that has proved to be of zero benefit in a year of limited public transport and anyway, we had our bus stop on the Black Pig (niche reference there for those of a certain age😉) blown away in a storm. I'm also a volunteer and participant at my local Parkrun - an activity of which I am a great supporter.

I've signed up for the virtual Edinburgh 2020 half-M and need to get it run by Crimbo, although I'm only managing 14km on my long runs currently, so it may be a run/jog/walk job.

OK, enough solipsistic blether, me hearties. Ooh, and indeed, Arghhh.

Best of luck with your Edinburgh ½marathon, I hope you manage to pick a decent weather day for it. Happy running 🤗

Many thanks. It'd be lovely to be able to choose the weather wouldn't it? Dry and warmish would be nice. I live in West Yorkshire - chances are slim for days like that even in the summer 😆.

I'm north of Edinburgh so you're bound to have the better weather 🤣

Do 'only' and '14k' go together? Not in my book. Good luck with the half marathon; a little bit of Jeffing is better than pushing too hard and injury.

The word "only" needs to be read in the context of the 22kms of running that the half requires! I have to agree with you in general terms though - at the 14km mark I've had enough and "fun" has become an abstract concept 😀.

Thanks for your cheery welcome! I too love the tune. Well I would wouldn't I, it being my theme tune and all 😁? I'm less enamoured of the off colour jokes made at the expense of the apocryphal names of my shipmates though 😉.

I loved it too. I loved the entire thing. Serfs Albert and Harold 😁. Happy days 🎶🎵. Or was it Alfred 🤔
