Not sure if wasn't dressed correctly ( base layer and 3/4 leggings ) as my chest must have been cold as breathing was hard & icy cold , although rest of me did not feel cold 🤷♀️
All way through felt why am I doing this...I want to go home...so resorted to just a 5k today..
Now 51k completed in Dec towards my 100k target wanted to try finish by 25th ...going to need some 10k's in the mix for that..
Hopefully a one off dodgy run and nxt time will be better 🤞

5k is 5k, don’t be annoyed with yourself D-F you’ve completed 51k ! in December ! that’s amazing, we’re only on the 12th, cut yourself a bit of slack, you’re already half way to your goal 👍
Well done Dutch-Fraggle for getting out there and giving it a go! Some runs just don’t work out the way we want them to, sadly🙁As for feeling cold🥶, maybe you could wear a gilet? I bought a hi-viz one from BTR sports for under £30 which is very good quality and comfortable. You might also try using a buff. They don’t work for everyone but I find it useful on cold mornings.
Good luck, let’s hope your next run is a bit better!😀👍
Thanks David_G ...Think I may invest in a buff a few people have mentioned it in a fb group I'm in .. plus during this colder weather think will stick to heading out in 2 layers at least can remove if get too warm then..
Fwiw I've had similar experiences in this colder weather, the coldest I've run in so far being 2°C . In my case my breathing has been horrible for the first km or so, but when I've slowed down and continued running it's gone back to normal. I've never felt cold though; in fact when I went out wearing a sleeveless vest under a long-sleeeved top I was way too warm. I suspect I'll be experimenting with layers for months yet.
You may be disappointed but goodness if I could run that far at that pace I'd be delighted. You're a great distance through your monthly target, I'm trailing you by 5k but we are both easily going to make it by the year end. Happy running 🤗
