Today I ran my first ever 9K and I must say I am feeling very proud of myself.

I got my normal pre-run nerves, doubting myself, this always happens when I increase the distance. I decided to stay in the park as I knew 9K would be approximately 3 times round the park. My plan was to run this 9k slow and steady. I kept telling myself that my goal for the day was to complete 9k and not worry about anything else and enjoy the run 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️

The first lap around the park was fine, I calmed myself down, thought about how much I have achieved since starting C25K and enjoyed taking in all the beautiful scenery and enjoyed listening to my music. The second lap felt more relaxed and I knew once I had completed this lap I was on the home front to achieving this. 💪💪💪💪 It felt that I was running at a steady pace and I was enjoying the run. I felt positive starting the third lap and the belief that I could do this. Once I got past the athletic track I dared to look at my watch, I had ran 8.63km which was a lovely surprise. I was feeling tired and very hot (two pairs of running socks, long sleeved base layer and a fleece jumper, which I did feel I would have liked to take off but I didn’t want to stop!!!) I gave it my final push and focused on a beautiful tree 🌲 🌲🌲as my finishing point.

I ran 9.06km in 52:51 and my splits were: 6:15, 6:03, 5:57, 5:53, 5:48, 5:41, 5:38, 5:36, 5:35.
I really am so delighted to have completed the 9k. I felt great afterwards and have been smiling all day 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Thank you for all your support and inspiration it always feels so great when finished the run to let everyone know I did it!!
I hope you all enjoy your next run!!! 🏃🏻♀️💪🐻🐻🐻👨🏭🌟
Ohh when I took my two pairs of socks off, I realised that my toe was bleeding. I think although my feet were lovely and warm it must have been too tight and pushed my nail into the side of my toe.
