Well, after a positively ghastly 4 nights in a row of night shifts I promised myself last night that I would force myself out the door for a run this morning! πββοΈπ΄
No real plan besides the intention to complete Week 3 of roseabiβs Speed Challenge - anything else would be a bonus (and a miracle!) π€
I did a brisk 5 minute warm up walk, a light jogged 1K (5:40 Ave. Pace) followed by a brief pause for my breathing to return to βnormalβ - revved the engine and set off π¨
Really happy π to have shaved off a few seconds on last weeks 1K PB and to clock my first sub 4 minutes π€
Paused again for a recharge and thought π a 5K is just about in the fuel reserve today ... so I pushed on at a slow pace ... a recovery run, no goals just miles in the legs π¦΅
Happy to clock a sub 30 minutes 5K (29:24) with all the individual elements of life currently considered πͺ
Happy running all πββοΈπββοΈ

Thanks lmc50 ππ» Amazed myself - I thought today would be an epic fail! I channeled all the things that I have bit my tongue over for the past four days and ran them away! π€
If you run much faster than that, youβll cause a disturbance in the space time continuum and possibly end up out of phase π! Seriously, though, well done! Thatβs an amazing pace and Iβm sure youβre pleased with it, as well as your recovery run πππ
I did sub 4-min/km pace for about 50m at the very start of week 1 of the speed challenge, but rapidly faded, ending with a 6min/km pace, and having to lean on railings for a minute at the end. Keeping at that level throughout a full kilometre is truly impressive.
Yes, it means I have a job! Finally! Nowhere near my area of expertise but beggars & choosers and all that jazz at the moment! π€ A bit of dollar before Christmas and some breathing space to retrain π€π» for the future π
Wow! Amazing pace PhoenixRise - especially after four night shifts. Tough stuff but I hope the job is working out ok for you?Keep on smashing those runs!ππͺ
