The glorious morning started with a warm up 1k run along the prom and we were pleased to see that it had been cleared of the shingle and sand following the high tides this week. So after removing one layer, and my gloves, I turned around and ran off at great speed. There was just a light breeze this morning but I managed to match my wind assisted week 2 time of 5:33 which Iβm really chuffed about. It was at a more even pace and I felt much better at the end of it. It was a great challenge and I am really pleased to have run 1k faster than any run before my accident earlier this year. @oldgirlruns was doing her warm up run as I was on fast 1k so all she got out of me was a wave.
My 2nd challenge today was to create a festive picture for the advent bingo, so off I went to run a Christmas present π. All was going well until I was running the crosswise ribbon, when a dog walker blocked my progress. UTS suggested I should have run straight on, but I thought you might rather see an unfinished ribbon π than hear that Iβd taken out an innocent walker ππΆββοΈI have to confess my running was restricted by the placement of flower beds and palm trees but I hope you can recognise it. π
Oldgirlruns joined us at a restaurant for a lovely breakfast, and the sun continues to shine. As we have just been moved into tier 3, that will be the last one for a while.
Keep safe everyone and keep running

Well done Dexy! Iβm impressed on all counts!I like your present! ππ
I wish Iβd run today instead of yesterday, although it would have been much busier. My speed challenge was slower than the last 2 weeks due to an unwelcome headwind and rain (didnβt mind the rain though), but it was still miles quicker than my normal runs on the same stretch. π
Nice one Dexy! Thatβs a great time so you should feel pleased with yourself! It was a lovely morning for it wasnβt it! I feel so sorry for the staff in βourβ cafes, letβs hope itβs not too long before we can get back to supporting them again!
Lovely Xmas present there Dexy5, I can see it (now you have explained itπ) I was seeing something different ππ( don't ask!) Your bingo card must be very full of βββπββοΈπxxx
Wow, super speedy Dexy5, did Ogr even manage to see you whizz by at that speed? πββοΈπ¨
Excellent Christmas present Strava art too, well done β πππ You can't have many boxes left to tick off now.
So sorry to hear you have moved to Tier 3, it's so tough for all of the cafe's and pubs in these areas as they would usually be so busy at this time of year βΉοΈ Are you still able to meet with Ogr for a take-away and consume outdoors as she is in your bubble (if I'm honest, I'm not quite sure what the rules are, but who is?!?!)?
At least you can still get out and run, small blessings ππ π€Άπβπ¦
Poor Oldgirlruns not only had me running past but then UTS doing his fastest 1 mile. Having said that, she also ran a fastest 1k
Iβve done 8 out of 16 now. Iβve just noticed that my December runs add up to 25.9 but Iβll see if I can make it up to 25 miles before I tick that box.
Luckily as Oldgirlruns is in our support bubble we are treated as one household so we can be in each otherβs homes too. We can only meet Mr & Mrs @coddfish outside for a takeaway, not in our gardens.
Running is a real bonus this year. πββοΈππ½
