Been feeling good on my 5/6/7k route (it’s the same one easily modifiable between 5 and 7k) recently. On Tuesday I completed the 7k variant in 50 mins and had to give up as I had to take child to school and do work, had the hour mark in mind and took an extra couple of days off.
Today I decided to run up and down a 2k section of the route before it starts to climb and go for the hour. That in the bag my watch was showing 8.4k, what’s another 1600 meters thinks me, although everything was starting to ache after 9k.
Splits for those interested....
1. 6:53
2. 7:02
3. 7:13
4: 7:09
5: 7:11
6: 7:22
7: 7:24
8: 7:09
9: 7:11
10. 7:22
Hmm, what next - haha, that was a joke!

Fantastic effort, well done on your unexpected 10k. Your split times could be a snapshot of one of my 10ks so obviously Brilliant 🤣🤣 what's next? Enjoy your running for a bit, get to the comfortable stage when running 8 - 10k then next stop is 16.1 (10miles)🤣 happy running 1🤗
🤣🤣 I e found the faster you run, higher the heart rate, older garmin makes you. Being female and running those speeds in zones 3 and 4 puts me the top 10% for my age group which I think is a bit of a joke.
Is it? No idea what people think is fast or slow, ever since I started running I always found I couldn’t properly control my pace properly so just run how I feel comfortable (ish). The time on that 10k is very close to my average 5k but I did it on an easier route.
Well my fastest 1k was the other day at 7.32 so you beat that fir every one, my 10k kilometres were mostly 9 something and a couple when my leg felt sore was 10 something so I’d have met you coming back if we started together
