So, I took the plunge and ordered the Garmin 45 from Amazon France where I am at the moment.
I read the reviews, watched the YouTube demonstrations and waited salivating at home all of Wednesday, the due delivery day.
Not a sausage! Then, checking the parcel’s progress I saw that it had been delivered at 6pm. Oh no it hadn’t. Nothing in the letter box. I checked around the neighbours but no luck. I was both disappointed and furious, but Amazon doesn’t have a good delivery record round here.
I reported it straight away. They initially insisted that it had gone to the letter box. Got a phone call this morning from them and requested a replacement. Also the delivery company called to say the article has been declared lost now, so never delivered.
What a waste of time, energy and emotion.
Far be it from me to conjecture that someone, somewhere has a nice running watch this Noël. I suppose if Amazon were interested enough, it could be tracked as soon as it connects with GPS.
Hoping the replacement happens 🤞

Sorry to hear this HeavyFoot. Amazon delivery round here is usually OK, but DHL is a nightmare. I thought Amazon (or Garmin?) could also deactivate any watch that's declared lost or stolen, but maybe I imagined that. Hope Amazon replace the watch right away; it's the least they can do.
Aw so annoying and disappointing, rubbish delivery. Sometimes I wonder what goes through their minds. I ordered a very expensive pair of prescription Oakley wrap around sunglasses which were to be sent out by the optician with a vague delivery date of about 10 days time. We always use our back door - mucky feet, access to garden etc. By chance I opened front door one day and there sitting on the doorstep was my order, glad we live in reasonably safe area.
So frustrating, i had one that kept being delayed, i ended up cancelling it and buying from Argos by which time of course I had changed my mind and bought a different more expensive one as had a load of nectar points Hope yours comes soon
Amazon are funny, I had a delayed tee shirt sent an email to ask where it was and they refunded the money, then it turned up the next day
So frustrating for you! I know when my 245 was set to be delivered I was at work. I texted my son to check for it when he returned home from school and I was on pins and needles until he replied since it was left on my front porch. Luckily mine was there. You will enjoy your new FR when it finally does arrive.
You’d think if they bothered to check that Amazon would know it had been delivered to the wrong address! But it’s with you now and just itching to go out with you on your next run! Enjoy!
Okay. Getting it set up and tried it out on 1km walk to the supermarket. Seems complicated at the moment and Not helpful for longsightedness. It’s very complimentary about my heart rate and VO2 but clearly didn’t record my stress levels dealing with phantom delivery. Nevertheless I think I’ll get addicted 😱
It's good that you finally got your watch (hurrah!) But that's very poor service from Amazon 😠 we've had trouble with other companies but never with Amazon UK (so far). Enjoy your new toy ⌚😁
We had a couple of large parcels delivered to the blue bin today. There was someone in at the time, actively listening for the doorbell.
This summer, I put up a very prominent house number, white numbers on black slate, clearly visible from the road. Next door on both sides still get our stuff.
Oh what a shame Heavyfoot. I must admit I found the French system not very technology-advanced when we lived there. And in the small hamlets our houses didn't even have names and house numbers.
Goodness it's a Christmas miracle- a man reading the instructions 😂 ..oh- I just re-read- you're poring over the stats 😁🤣 hope you're enjoying the watch - and the running- even more 😁👍
