A really not feeling it run 😐

So I really wasen't feeling it today , I have had a few days with a niggly lower back , yesterday and this morning felt a bit better so thought I'd do a shorter run of either 4K or 30 minutes (whichever comes first)

As it happened, they came at around the same time 😁

This is only the 2nd time I have ran less than 5K since since my first one which was also my first consolidation run (seems a long time ago now but in reality it's not that long ago !)

So it was a case of keeping ticking over today .

I'm sure I could if caries on to the 5k but just wasen't in the mood and I pass close to home around 4k .

So, happy to have run but a little disappointed with not doing the 5 !

Ahh well 😐

Although the trace looks even more like a rabbit now πŸ˜‚πŸ°

Tough Running Instructor57 and yes you've given us your bunny run πŸ˜† I've had those runs, being close to home is fatal for a distraction if your not feeling it!

Yes, at least it was a run though πŸ™‚

Wow that's a proper bunny! You can now tick off the 'strava art' square on the festive bingo (a Christmas bunny?!) 😁 πŸ‡Well done though, it's tough when you're not feeling it and especially if you're not 100% πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Feel better soon!

Sorry you weren’t feeling it this morning, Ian. I guess we all have those days. You did get out there, though - and complete 4K run! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ I know it’s not the distance you usually do, but I love 4K runs. I did one myself this morning 😊.

We all have off days. Count it as a practice for your marathon. πŸ˜‰

A run is a run though! I ran 2km on Sunday morning and it was a nice one to do as I wasn't out of the house for too long which was a nice change πŸ˜€ - I also went faster than usual as I knew I didn't have to pace myself

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10 in reply to Kish247

Absolutely, I need to embrace shorter runs sometimes and work on pace πŸ‘

Full of admiration for you! 4k is a respectable run for someone who didn't want to go!It's gremlins central here and so your post has encouraged me to try and run tomorrow, or even at this very moment!

Good to hear ! I really did not want to go but as always , I'm pleased afterwards that I did .

I hope it gave you that extra little nudge πŸ‘

Haha! I just put on my shoes and ran just under 4k. If I hadn't read your post I wouldn't have gone! That's what's brilliant about the forum! Odd little run around the streets in the dark at a very unusual time of day for me!

Remember World Kindness Day? You need to be kind to yourself - don't beat yourself up too much over this.

Well done on getting out there when you weren't feeling on top of your game today. You didn't really enjoy your run but 4k is perfectly respectable. And there was no point carrying on if you weren't enjoying it.

The next one will be better.

Love the bunny art! 😁

Some days it just doesn’t all join together but you did 30 minutes so that to me is good. I abandoned my run after 1k last week, my feet just wouldn’t co- operator 🀣

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10 in reply to TotalNewbie1

Haha, I was tempted to quit at 1k today as I was close to home 😁

If that’s your first run less than 5k, hats off!

I’ve been known to sack runs off at 3k when not feeling the love! Then I get weeks like this one when all seems to fall into place. It’ll not last long I’m sure.

It was my 2nd I think , had one around 3.5 k where I stopped to talk to someone 😁

Hi Ian,

Love the 🐰 🐰🐰wish I could run a bear 🐻 🐻🐻!!!

Sorry to hear that your back is not great at the moment. Very well for getting out there and running 4Km when you was not feeling it and not feeling 100%. I am sure you will ❀️ Your next run. Hope your back feels better. Take care. Rebecca πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺ🐻🐻🐻

Remember when you started running and how it felt when you first ran for 30 minutes πŸ‘and now here you are beating yourself up about only running 30 minutes 😬 give yourself a pat on the back instead and as Birdlady says be kind to yourself. Just look back and see how far ahead you are of those still sat on the couch. Take care of yourself Ian 😁

Instructor57Graduate10 in reply to Littleoyellow

Thank you ! Your right of course , any run is better than staying on the couch πŸ˜πŸ‘

Oh, are you now on the departure lounge couch ?

nowster profile image
nowsterGraduate10 in reply to Instructor57

Something like that. I felt the first twinges of a potential shin splint on Monday and curtailed my run. I'm resting that leg for a few days.

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10 in reply to nowster

I'm impressed !

Littleoyellow profile image
LittleoyellowGraduate10 in reply to Instructor57

Much better. Beware of the couch πŸ˜¬πŸ›‹ I'm still doing one 4k and one 5k a week as well as a longer run and have been enjoying the mix 😁 it's much better then the sitting on the couch I was doing at the start of the year. Take care of your back so that you can enjoy stretching yourself when you're fully fit πŸ˜πŸ‘
