So this was my first run since my Sunday 10K, my lower back ached a little on Monday and Tuesday so this was a bit of a recovery run .
It was bright but chilly as I went out , in tights, Running tights of course ! π
Long sleeved top and light jacket and gloves .
I didn't really have a plan for this run , infact as I left the house I was planning on 3.5 to 4K but during my warmup walk I decided on this NRC run .
I don't feel it really helped me much this time , I missed Andy P from Headspace .
There was however I part that made me smile .
Halfway in coach says if you are on an out and return then it's time to turn around and run back , but if your on a treadmill DONT turnaround !!! Haha π
Anyway the run was pretty uneventful really, but did it's job of loosening me up again , so all is good !
Back home for a pre lunch water and a banana π

I was listening to coach Bennett the other day and he announced that the run was halfway, but he said donβt turn around yet, because youβll be running the second half of your run faster than the first half! I think it was the 10 mile run. π I like the βdonβt turn around if youβre on a treadmillβ comment π
I like those runs where youβre not sure exactly what youβll be doing until the warmup walk! Seems to take all the pressure off somehow.
True! My run today was to extend distance, but at a more consistent, relaxed, slower pace than any of my recent runs.
The difference is it's just me, the watch and something silly to listen to. I am a planner, an analyzer, etc. But once I'm out there running, my only thought is to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
I like all of this! You can be however you want to be when you run. The analysis after is great!
Absolutely the way you describe! Sometimes all I hear is the rhythmic tip tap of my feet and once I settle in to my comfy pace it feels great. Those longer runs will be the making of you! I ran 7m last night at 11.14 average and HR was 126 average. I allowed it to be comfy and it was π
Translating into metric, that's a 7min/km pace. A little bit slower than my "just plodding" pace today. (Doing hills are slower, of course, and muck up the HR average.) But you've about 18 months head start. π
Fab, well done! Hope this recovery run has sorted out your back π I've not done that particular guided run yet. Now I can't wait to try it out, I'm sure the 'don't turn around' will make me giggle π
I hurt it many years ago trying to stop my mum falling over , so usually have a bit of lower back ache , to be honest I'm not sure if the running helps or not
