👏👏👏👏Well done! You look great. Hope you're not too sore. Another 5k done that keeps you rolling on 😊
Very stylish! Well done on completing 5k l, hope you're not sore after that tumble
Well done D-F that hat doesn’t look ideal for running, 🥵 but you certainly look the part, I’ve not heard of International Mens Day, must look that one up. I’m sorry to hear you took a tumble, that happened to me a while back and it shakes you up, have to be so careful of wet leaves this time of year. I’m guessing that hat won’t be worn on your next run 😂
Oo take care out there!! Well done for getting back out there! Nice hat 🙂
Well done! Yes, that's definitely more of a post run hat than a during one!
Now we're into worsening wintery conditions it can be good to practice smaller steps on slippery/frosty surfaces at a higher cadence. This keeps your weight more central and can help to retain/regain balance in the event of a slip/slide.
I've taken a few tumbles this year myself (ignoring my own advice to not take my eyes off the trails!) You're right, best to jump back on that horse ASAP, albeit gently! 👍🏻😁
Thanks for the tips appreciate the advice .. does worry me the frosty morning coming up...played around with running times but I do seem to prefer mornings its a good start to the day mentally I find ...The bit that gets me mainly concerned is early runs in dark - no-one knows if I'm not home when expected ( live alone ) so if I was to have a nasty accident I would be stuck til someone discovered me ha ha frozen laid on the ground..
😬🥶
Its a very valid concern. I run alone long distances, if you hop onto the Marathon board too you can read my post on "failure to return strategy"
Especially in your job, you'll be more aware than ever. Please get yourself an emergency ID tag you can put on your shoe. (Easy to knock yourself out on a kerb). Maybe consider messaging a pal saying what time you'll be back, and if they don't hear back within an hour of that they need to call for help.
It can feel like overkill but I now carry (in winter for sure) a whistle, a first aid kit, thermal blanket, emergency shelter, plus extra gloves, hat, and buff in a dry bag. All this alongside my usual fluids and snacks for up to 4/5 hrs.
I wouldn't recommend all that for you at this stage but a thermal blanket in winter will fit in a pocket as will thin gloves. The emergency ID is always a good idea. Some have the tags that fit onto smartwatch straps.
Brilliant idea re the emergency tag for shoes thank you ! You sound very organised BTW very impressive !
