.. Sarah Carwin, Suffragette. She was an amazing lady who travelled to Russia, was nurse to Tzar Nicholas' children for a short while and following time at Great Ormond Street Hospital also set up a home for illegitimate babies and children. As an active member of the WSPU she was arrested and imprisoned on several occasions for her protests and window breaking activities. Following two hunger strikes and health issues cause by being force fed she had to withdraw from active protest.

Biographer Francis Marbella Unwin said of her "she spared herself nothing in the pursuit of her ideals...a few weeks before her death, she said that if she could choose any part of her life to live over again she would choose the part she had devoted to suffrage. It had seemed the most worthwhile."

What a lady!✊️✊️🙂

Fabulous lady and what a life! We are so very lucky to live today and in this part of the world and the older I get the more I appreciate this. We owe a huge debt to people like your auntie Sarah 🙂

What a gal 💪😃. I always go on about voting in all the local elections, and that we should because we can! I think it’s important for everyone, but women in particular, and we should always exercise our franchise

I have signed up because the suffragettes did amazing things, but I will now run this with your great great aunt in mind. What a woman! What a debt we owe them all.
