Wet feet!

I went out this morning for another jog run sprint. It was a bit gloomy, dry with a fresh westerly wind but pretty mild. At the “speed” I run JRS is a bit of a misnomer but hey, all things are relative! 3km in 29 mins plus another 0.33k very slow and careful trot along the beach as the tide was low and there was some sand rather than just the usual shingle. A few photos taken and oops! I forgot to actually watch the water which was suddenly zipping up the beach and wrapping itself round my feet! Ah well, I was headed home so only 5 minutes to squelch and it was nice and cool! Happy running folks!

I've returned home with wet feet after many of my runs last week. If you have good socks your feet warm up again even though they're wet, and you don't tend to notice it too much after the initial shock.

It was certainly refreshing nowster

Three nice photos of the sea OGR, good run as well, pity about getting your feet wet with the incoming tide but as soon as you got home you would dry them. 😊 🏃🏾 Enjoy the rest of the day 😊

Thanks Alan, it was a surprise but quite pleasant really!

It was mild but blustery here today too. I got out for a gentle 5k after our self isolation. It was ‘naked’ as I couldn’t find my headphones either. Turns out they were in plain sight about 3 feet from where I sit on the sofa!! Tbf husband couldn’t find them either. Now I know why I don’t take photos!

Sounds like you had an enjoyable run.

Ha ha , you must have got out a lot earlier than us Oldgirlruns. It was high tide when we ran around the castle so also got wet feet. Our shoes have been rinsed to get the salt out and stuffed with newspaper. Good job I have a few pairs to choose from.

Well done on your JogRunSprint. I’ll have to send UpTheStanley down to give you some personal training!

Went out about 8.45 so not too early - the tide was obviously on the way in, hence my wet tootsies but it wasn’t particularly cold . I just wasn’t expecting it! I think I’m probably a lost cause on the training front even for UTS!!

You just have to believe Coach! You did when Laura (or whoever) told you you could leave the couch and run 5k, so now I’m telling you you can run 1k in 9 mins this week , then 2k in 18 next, and so it goes .....

Always the danger when taking photos on a beach 🤣 Bit that are lovely photos much appreciated by some one who lives in the centre of the country. Sounds a good run too x

I’m never sure about posting pics dijep, especially as I know so many people are stuck pounding pavements in towns. But I love looking at people’s photos of gorgeous countryside and I know I’m lucky living where I do, so I hope others get some enjoyment from them too!

Looks and sounds just lovely 🙂 A good test for how waterproof your socks and shoes are 🙂

Glad you can get outside again Sybilw. Funny how things ‘disappear’ isn’t it? It’s usually my specs!

You masochist 😂 JRS is one of my least favourite apps (I’d rather do NRC Fartleks if I absolutely have to go at different speeds!) Good run though and nice pics. Hope your shoes are drying out

Oldgirlruns profile image
OldgirlrunsGraduate10 in reply to Sandie1961

Thanks Sandie, yes all drying nicely! I’m not sure about different speeds - I feel as though they’re there but as I generally move so slowly, as you know!, I suspect most people wouldn’t notice any difference!!

I’m sure you do go at different paces, even if you don’t sprint as fast as some others!

Lucky to find some sand in Southsea OGR - quite a rare occurrence!

That’s true- the tide has to be a long way out for it to emerge!
