So since running my first 10k on 30/10/20, I have run a 5k/4K/7k/5k. None of these have been easy or that enjoyable and if I’m honest I have struggled to feel at ease with my running. So today I decided to cancel first meeting of the day (it was only a chat via Teams not an actual meeting 😉) and run before the doubt your ability gremlins took over. My Mind is all over the place at the moment and won’t settle, so decided on a new route (to add interest - still local, just a mix up of sections from other routes tagged together to make a loop), a comfortable distance (5k to take pressure off) and use NRC app headspace run (see if the experts can talk me into my good happy space). Pleased to report it worked on all fronts. Was happy and chilled after and had stopped giving myself a hard time. Wasn’t even bothered when on home straight and about to speed up when a neighbour I had not seen for a while stopped me for a chat 🤦♀️and to ask about my running. Running definitely reminds us to accept life’s challenges and it’s easier to do so if you look for the positives. The headspace run was just what I needed today 🙂 happy running buddies 🙌🏻
It all counts: So since running my first 10k... - Bridge to 10K

👏👏👏👏👏
Good for you! This was so lovely to read. It's world kindness day tomorrow and sometimes we forget to be kind to ourselves. Well done on recognising what you needed to do 😊😊😊
A few of us seem to be struggling a bit at the moment, for all sorts of reasons.
We all need to be kinder to ourselves
And each other of course
The Headspace runs are perfect for me atm and fit the mood perfectly
Well put.
Thank you for sharing such a lovely honest post that ends with such a positive result. Its difficult sometimes to get out of a spiral of feeling like it's all getting a struggle bit you did it. We'll done 👍😊
I've read a lot of good things about the NRC headspace runs, I don't really like listening to things when I run but I think I'll have to give them a try.
Lovely honest post. Well done for turning what seemed like a negative into a positive result 👍
So pleased you turned this into a positive and that the headspace run worked for you! Made me smile reading it. 😊 Well done 👏👏👍👍
Well done Slothgoesrunning , and thank you for such a positive, inspiring post
I so identified with your post- I'm a bit lost in the post 10k mist after three 4/5k runs, feeling just as you describe, and am at the point of embarking on some "experimental" running, slowing the pace right down again. Thank you for sharing those thoughts and that restorative run. I'm going to give it a go 😁🏃♀️👍
