This month WILL be different!!

I WILL run alternate days

I WILL enjoy it!!

That’s what I’m telling myself and yes I DID run this morning and I DID enjoy it. I’ve stopped worrying about speed and distance although I do like to do at least 30 minutes on a bad day and hopefully push myself to at least 5k on a better day. There haven’t been many good days lately.

My health has been bad, my cat has been poorly. Not Loki the loser, but my gorgeous big bouncy Miriam, my tabby 10 yr old girl, has been bringing up her food about an hour after eating each day for 4 days. Vet visit yesterday morning... everything else seems fine so “stubborn furball” was the diagnosis and she was given an antiemetic jab, some Katalax for the next 3 days and soft wet food diet for a week or so. So £67 lighter we left the vets. Got home and she was fine for the rest of the day then last night as my daughter and I were sat watching Bumbljng Boris and playing Boris Bullshit Bingo Drinking game, with rhubarb and ginger gin, my Luna suddenly sat up in HER bed, started urging and she was sick all over her bed and the floor. So now I’m worried why both of them have started this. I was in tears because it reminded me of when we lost our two fur babies, Beryl and Cosmo, 10 and 11 years ago to antifreeze poisoning. My daughter calmed me down a bit and reminded me that Miriam is an over groomer and Luna is long haired so maybe it’s just winter coat grooming that’s causing it. But its just unusual for them as I make sure they have hairball treats regularly and groom them regularly too.

Anyway I’m rambling again.. sorry.. so I ran today and it was quite nice really. Bit grey out and a little breezy, quite mild though 14 degrees Garmin Connect says, and apart from legs like lead ( gin and not much sleep worrying about cats) and my “ stitch “ pain I quite enjoyed it. I had to Jeff again , 5:1, and even that was a bit of a struggle but I also stopped and took loads of pics along the way and when I got home realised I’d probably been quite a bit faster than usual when I WAS moving as I did the same time for my 5k (44 mins) as when I didn’t stop for pics last run.

Nearly came a cropper when a cheeky little squirrel ran right across the path in front of me, then he proceeded to pose nicely, in various places up the tree, for me to take his picture. Loads of leaves were down and where it’s wet it was quite treacherous underfoot too. The river looked very fast, grey and choppy today and I bet it was cold in there too. Not so many birds down there this morning. But the Park did look pretty as I ran through there, with the different colour leaves and still a few flashes of red from berries here and there. I spotted a load of huge rosehips too as I was leaving the park and might go back later and get some for a final batch of syrup for the winter. I also gave myself a start as I ran past one of the pubs near end of my run, and they had 3 Halloween dummies “looking out” of the windows. Got the old heart rate going there for a minute!!! 💀👻🎃

So I feel better for having run, having been out for a run since Wednesday and really needed it. Just need to get back into the swing of it again,... Up, Dress and Out the door. That’s the way. No thinking about it.

Great post and pics. So sorry to hear re cats. Being an animal lover I can sympathise, hope they improve quickly. We always worry about them. Good you got yourself out there as it’s actually easier not too especially at this time of year.👍

Oh my! You did need that run today! I empathise, my dog has had a weird tummy on and off- may need a visit to the vet! Trying to work out how to survive the upcoming lockdown, especially as my retired, golf addicted husband will be going stir crazy while I'm still working from home and we have essential kitchen work planned! Omg.

Well done, stay calm and keep running!

Yeah I’d planned on having my new sitting/dining floor before last Christmas and it looks like I might not get it THIS year either if we can’t get the flooring delivered before lockdown. My son is a fitter so that would be ok if we can get the stuff. All the painting and stuff is fine - just the floor left to do.

I just want all this to be over with or at least see the end of it in sight. But I expect we all feel the same. Its the not knowing that’s the thing. But all we can do is keep safe and stick to the rules.

I am so sorry to hear your dear kitties are causing you some stress right now. My thoughts are with you that they both smarten up and stay healthy for you. Running regularly will help with alleviating that stress.

Great pictures! That one of the pub would have scared the bejesus out of me 😳. So creepy 😂

Love the bingo card. You could also add "Polysyllabic Logorrhoea" (using too many long words just to sound clever). 😉

And good just to get out in spite of the weather.
