Bittersweet - my runniversary!

Facebook reminded me today that it's a year since I completed Couch to 5K. I well remember the feeling of absolute elation on my graduation run, despite it being one of my slowest runs as I kept slowing down to take blurry pics...

I have been quiet on here recently as my dodgy hip has been flaring up - the last time I ran was early April and it still doesn't feel quite right. My fitness has dropped off a cliff during "lockdown" but I'm hoping that before too much longer, I'll be able to post about running again. Until then, take care, stay safe and enjoy your running!

Congratulations Deb :)

Don't lose hope - I came back after a four month stay on the IC after dislocated hip :)

Congratulations, Debs! You have been an inspiration to me and Iโ€™m sure others who started running at about the same time as you.

As someone who spends a lot of time on the IC myself, I know that you will be back running before long. Hope you are well otherwise.

Happy runniversary Debston! ๐Ÿ™‚Keep the faith - I really hope your hip settles down soon and you are able to enjoy getting back to your running again. ๐ŸคžI haven't run for 3 weeks myself due to vertigo so I know how frustrating it feels!

You will be back and when you are it will be all the more inspiring. Take care and good luck getting out there.

Congratulations on your Runniversary Debston ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ˜Š. I can understand your frustration having spent 6 months on the IC myself last year. I kept the thought of running in my mind throughout and it felt wonderful to start C25k again back in January. You will be back and we will all be here to cheer you on ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š.

Congratulations on your runniversary! I empathise with the fitness dropping off a cliff scenario, itโ€™s the same for me. Hope your hip settles down soon and you can get back out there ๐Ÿ˜

Oh debs, bittersweet indeed! I'm another member of the dodgy hip club, and although I've been back running (sort of) for a few weeks now, it's a long way from where I was. You'll get there again, there's plenty of us trying to haul our way back to fitness with you. Feel the love! ๐Ÿ˜˜ x x

Thanks all for the lovely comments, I will try and stay positive! I have been increasing my walking for the last couple of weeks and making sure I hit 10,000 steps every day. Not the same buzz as running but at least it's something!

A runniversary on the IC still needs to be celebrated because it shows that youโ€™ve continued the running and that youโ€™ll return. So Happy Runniversary to you.

Iโ€™ve spent months on the IC over the years so I sympathise but do what you can with any strengthening and stretching and keep the faith that you will get back out there again. And you wonโ€™t have lost as much fitness as you think, Your body will remember. Take care ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‚

Congratulations on the first running anniversary. Itโ€™s hard to be on the IC, but youโ€™ll be off it and running around soon. Itโ€™s hard to be motivated to run at the moment too with no parkrun or races to train towards. Get well soon and congratulations again.
