Beautiful day - living and learning.

What a beautiful day! Haven’t run for a week as life got in the way a bit. I decided to take a break from the timed magic plan, and to run with the husband around Siblyback Lake for the first time. It’s a great flat 5k route. It was chilly and windy 8c. Buff very helpful to warm up the breathing.

Husband did a lovely 31mins, and I started off too fast 😬 so had to walk after the first 1k and between then and the end walked a couple more times, but still happy with 5k in 44mins. I seem to have lost my “running without stopping for 30mins mojo” since the temperatures have dropped, and am learning that I need to warm up and stretch better and for longer before I start running, partly for the breathing, and partly for the sake of my calves which were a bit hard/stiff and achey. I’m living and learning! So - next time hoping to run longer.

Have a great week everyone 🏃‍♀️🌞

Well done for your 5K! 👏👏👏👍

I went through a week or so where I stopped for a few seconds in the middle of a couple of runs. I could see it might become a habit. I slowed down a bit for a week or two, that seems to have done the trick! 👍

Lovely pic, by the way.

Thanks Jools! Yes I think there’s something about mind over matter here and increasing confidence. 👍

What a beautiful place to run BR! I’d love to do 5k in 44 minutes - I’m such a slow runner my avg is about 48 mins. I might try walking my next (not)parkrun to see if I can do it in less time! As you say, it’s all a learning experience!

Thankyou! Yes, I just think practice and keeping going is what will work. Let’s keep on keeping on! 🏃‍♀️🎉
