I love having a plan and don’t really like it to alter, so after a skirmish with a plant pot which did not want to move I pulled a muscle at the bottom of my back last weekend, nothing for it but to rest up. I gingerly went out for a very gentle 5k after an extra days rest and then a very gentle 7k and felt ok to bring me back on to my plan this week of running 19.5k in preparation for the half marathon distance next week! It was a tough morning battling with wind and rain and I admit to thinking at 18k I’m going to have to really focus and even if I’m very slow just get to where you need to be. I think my brain must have scrambled a bit as the next thing is Strava telling me I’d done 19k where I really wanted to be at 18.5! I thought just carry on so at 19.5k I was at a lovely stretch on downward hill - no point in walking now so I heard the magic words you have now completed 20k, my longest run ever and hopefully set up for the final part of this plan to run a half marathon next week - I did so enjoy that piece of homemade flapjack on the walk home!
Back on plan to achieve 20k : I love having a... - Bridge to 10K

Wow, well done! How amazing to run so far! I can't wait.
You showed great control stopping at 20k! I would have had to add the other one and a bit. Enjoy your HM, it is a great achievement..... book the post run socially distanced booze up now!! 🙂
Ha Ha to be truthful, I was ready for my late breakfast! But I like the idea of booking a socially distanced booze up hopefully next week 👏👍🎉🍷

That is definitely on my agenda too so I hope to make 18/19k in the next couple of weeks / month

Great running Over62. I'm glad your back isn't causing you any more problems. That HM is just around the corner 👏👏💪
Well done! You are way more disciplined than I ever am, I don't even have plans for my runs, let alone the capacity to stick to them. Happy running!
