I was out today too, but I was faced with a little reality and a reminder about winter running with the pond that gathers on the running path in the little park nearby π΅. A deep ditch was dug in the early part of this year, I suppose in the hope that would resolve the problemπ€π½ , but unfortunately... as you can see π , it hasnβt π¨! I had to do a lot of turn arounds to get my run in today. Itβs definitely not a puddle π! Thereβs a current flowing there I can tell you! You can see it moving! π€£
Anyway, the run was done β !! Iβm happy and Iβll be on the watch out for the perfect off road running spot! Iβm praying that I find one (or two)!! ππ½
Anyway....happy running Runners!! β€οΈ

Congratulations on getting to 200 miles on LEJOG FAB450, you are really doing very well with that, as for flooding, I am also dogged with having to take a little more than 1 km off my running route because of what you see in that photograph, what is needed is proper drainage, onwards and upwards for your Lejog journey. π ππΎ πΆ
Thanks so much AlMoor!! π€ Ah...so youβll definitely understand the little dilemma. I may have to revert to the roadside, but Iβm really hoping not. πβ€οΈ
I cycled through long puddles, well not puddles, flood water this morning checking up for my run tomorrow, that's why I won't be running on that part, I intend to run a 8K, if it hadn't been for the flooding I was going to run my second 10 miles run, I like that woodland part to run in on longer runs to build up the distance, hopefully with dryer weather forecast for later in the week, a week tomorrow I will be able to run my second 10 miles run or further. π ππΎ
One thing I do not do is run on roads, I have had enough of roads when cycling, so all my runs are off road apart from very quiet dead end cul de sac roads through a quite neighbourhood.
Fantastic work Fab450! πββοΈππ Glad youβre enjoying the challenge. I donβt envy you trying to run around all that water though. It canβt be easy!π³
Everyone on the LEJOG Facebook group is so supportive which helps a lot I thinkπ Iβm about 20 miles or so behind you at the moment but Iβm doing a long run in the morning if all goes to planππ€
The Olympic Pool was a surprise today π€¦π½ββοΈ. I didnβt think weβd see it this year because of the preparations made with a deep ditch, but hey ho, nature refuses to be controlled π§ πββοΈ πββοΈ πββοΈ ! β€οΈ
Wowee! πππ That far already?! You're certainly banking some miles at the moment. I hadn't heard of Banwell Bone Caves so had a quick Google - looks like an intriguing place. I shall make the effort to go there when things open up more. Great that you get all the stats, postcard & local points of interest.
Enjoy the next stretch up towards Gloucestershire! π
Thanks so much Slinkymalinki!! π€ If anyone had said I could complete 200 miles in 6 weeks, steps included or not, Iβd have considered them a little bit π€ͺ!! But, itβs been a seriously eye opening experience! I canβt say I feel like Iβve cracked it as itβs early days, but Iβm happily trying.
I will certainly enjoy seeing more of the country on LEJOG tour with my commitments ππβ€οΈ!!
Thanks so much CBDB!! π€ Itβs difficult not to be excited with all of the motivations!! Youβre doing a great job too. Glad to be on the way with so many amazing VRBs. β€οΈ
πββοΈ As swimming isnβt included, Iβll try to avoid the pool!! Iβm only gathering a bit of water to line us up on our route π. Weβre in it together. Walk/run, weβll get there!! π¬π§π¦Ύ! β€οΈ
Yes!! ππ... I might have to acquire a brand new skill! π€....π―...Or buy a boat π£ββοΈ!

200 miles! π π¬π§ Iβm logging my total steps too so walks and runs are included. Great photos Fabulous. There have been a few flooding induced u-turns for runners this week. It looks like even wellies would have struggled to cope with your flooded path! The ducks would like it though π¦.
Thanks so much! π€ Yes!! Thereβs a ditch running alongside to the left which has to be totally full to overflow to that level. So π€....going for a swim πββοΈ is certainly an option. π²...π€...Or fishing π£ ! Not tried that yet! ππβ€οΈ
Well done Fabulous450 ...you are doing amazing! That is def not a puddle, thatβs a stream!! You could do a bit of windsurfing on that! Congratulations on the 200 mile mark...thereβs no stopping you ππ»
Yay! Keeping up the motivation and charging onwards! Potholing/caving along the way too! Its such a joy to read your posts as you just seem to be brimming with enthusiasm. I must get my backside into gear as I've slipped a bit this week.
Thanks so much Fionamags!! π€ I decided when I joined LEJOG it would be the perfect mind trick, to get out there this winter and just see how far I could go! A bit like C25K, Iβve amazed myself by the emerging realisation that I could actually do it! Now...that has ignited a whole lot of mojo ππ½ππ½π!! So happy!!
Weβre going to get there together Fionamags!! Because, yes...we can do it! π¬π§πβ€οΈ
