RunLEJOG, Standing Stones and liking Bennett

Just a run, this morning, putting on Coach Bennett with “Just a Run”, an audio coached run on NRC.

And I am certainly warming up to Bennett. This morning I almost didn’t run, because of dark, rain, wet, work....

But light started shimmering through the bedroom window and I thought, good day to give Coach Bennett another chance with one of his quick 30min runs.

So as I ran through a gorgeous sunrise, he talked to me and actually it was really soothing, allowing me to really take it slow in this recovery run. And it also allowed me to imagine running through the Cornish sunrise-lit landscape of Bodmin Moor, now dotted with all sorts of standing stones!

And, what do you know, I stopped exactly at the Jamaica Inn.

What more can a runner want?

Well done CBDB Coach Bennett and I get on very well these days, and I find him very useful when I'm flagging or not feeling confident. I'm aiming to use his 90 minute run coaching session tomorrow when I go for my longer run. For some reason he just seems to come on at the right time to offer advice and guidance, which I suppose is the point of coaching.

If you're stopping off at Jamaica Inn, please have one for me!

Will do. And yes, having the audio runs on NRC is a big advantage. I will add the to my routines, I think.

And at the Jamaica Inn I have a choice between fish and chips, Jamaica Inn scones and cream, or Cornish pasties .... hmmmmm (I fear in real live I’ve started to cut out wheat from my diet, so I have to dream about eating wheat on here.... 🌾 🐠 🍲🧇🍟🥟)

I do like him and enjoyed that app right up to HM. Well done you because you're still 'batting' and achieving 👏👏👏

Yes! Batting very slowly, but batting I am! 🤣

and I can see how Bennett coached audio will serve future runs really well. ( and it might be that some are better than others ... everyone has a bad run once in a while)

And I’m keen also to try the other ones. The free coached audio runs are a big plus for NRC vs Runkeeper.

🤣yes, those Inns are becoming a habit...and I think after this winter (which will be my first runner’s winter) I hope to be truly comfortable with night runs. At the moment it still feels like darkness is a dealbreaker for running, but I really need to break thru that.

Great running, love your posts, as always! Keep them coming and keep running! 👏👏😘

You’re doing brilliantly CBDB! 🤩🤩 I’ve still not cracked winter running after 2 years. I’m hoping that this year an adjusted mindset for LEJOG means this year will be different.

If I could get disciplined about a run at lunchtime, that would be fantastic. But, it’s difficult to guarantee that time. Maybe that requires a new commitment too! 😉❤️
