RunLEJOG Medal arrived

My long-awaited RunLEJOG medal arrived today, with a brilliant T-Shirt that I’d forgotten I ordered more than a year ago!

They will join ca ten other medals that I achieved along the way, but this one will be special!

And it felt like not only an award for each run I did during these 18 months but also a recognition for my little run of this morning, part of my second C25k journey!

It was more than 1 1/2 years ago, on the 17/08/2020, after a consolidation period as a C25k graduate, I, self-crowned queen of slow, signed up for the 874-mile journey from Lands End to John O Groats. It was the first virtual challenge I signed up for and the first promise of a medal.

I had amazing fun. I even met my physical self, where my virtual self passed a bridge going over the M6, and my real self looked down, waving 👋. healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...

And once closer to the one year mark, I asked the good people at End2End to put me onto a later cohort to see if I could finish the journey within two years total. On 23/04/2022, I completed my ultra-slow but ultra-fun journey and today, I have a medal and T-shirt to prove this.

My oh my, I love this running community!

Well done CBDB I've also completed E2E and got the t-shirt and medal to prove it! The challenges are great fun and everyone in the Facebook group is so supportive. I've just passed the 'two thirds of the way' point on another of their challenges, Route 66. I'm just about on schedule to finish it by the end of 2022, having started on 1 January 2021 (you get two years for that one as it's 2,278 miles and you can cycle too).
