So the B210K is going well, I completed week 5 (my second 8k) yesterday morning - and felt super happy afterwards. However, not long after getting back home I started feeling pain and stiffness in my left archiles area. I iced and took anti-inflammatories ... but it's worse today. I have taken more ibuprofen and have been resting up... but I'm not sure what to do. Should I rest it completely this week, should I try a run of it starts to feel better? I think I will give tomorrows run a miss, but what then?
Is there a 'best way' to deal with it? Any tips or advice would be very much welcomed. I don't want to not run if I can help it, but equally I don't want to do the wrong thing and make it worse.

Take a couple of days off from running. See how you are feeling after that. If I was you I would maybe rest up until Wednesday. Then go out for a light jog to test it out. But don't run on it at the moment. An extra couple of days rest should do the job.
I hope it is just a rest up for a couple of days. Let us all know how you get on. I hope it is feeling better today. If the niggle does continue it's best to seek advice from Physio etc. But hopefully that won't be necessary.
Hi, as someone who is approx 6 weeks into an achilles injury, and didn't even realise that's what it was as the pain was under my heel, my advice would be go and get it checked out if you can.
Thanks for your advice. I'm hoping it settles after a few days rest, but if it doesn't I agree that the sensible thing would be to get it checked out. Thanks again.
I’ve just recovered from Achilles tendinitis Sara, and it does take a while. I recommend you google it and find the nhs advice and exercises. Give the running a miss for a few days too. Ice is good.
It could be that you went a bit fast , or your shoes aren’t quite right. I went to a physio who confirmed that I stopped running before I did too much damage , which was good to know.
Btw Dexy5.... is your profile pic the Spinnaker Tower? My father is from Portsmouth, I spent lots of time there as a child... I particularly loved Old Portsmouth.... we would always pay a visit to The Still & West for a spot of lunch!
Thank you for your advice - it's very much appreciated. It good to get other people's views... especially when you're feeling torn on the est thing to do.
