Do what makes you happy

Having really struggled to get into any new running routine since changing jobs I was determined to have a run today whatever the weather. Failed miserably to get out of bed this morning and felt so rubbish so finally turned off my works laptop and bullied myself into going for a run at lunchtime.

I had forgotten how much I love just running for the sake of it and how in tune it makes me feel with my body (took up running to recover from a heart attack and running has proved to be excellent in helping me connect and understand how exercise, food, sleep works or doesn't for me).

Snow-problem running in my trusty Brooks hybrids so went cross country. Cold but had a smile on my face for the first time in a while so absolutely worth every second. A slow run but one of the most enjoyable in a long time and I feel back connected with me again.

Wherever you are I hope the weather is good enough for a run (even if it's only a very short one) but if not remember next week is just around the corner. Have a good weekend.

Well done, you got out there! Takes some motivation in this weather. I failed this week but am reading all the posts on here and thinking I must do better! Thanks for posting 👍

Your post inspired me. Went out this morning despite snow on the ground and loved it. Thank you! 🤗

Running for the sake of it and just for joy is one of life's gifts. Good for you for getting out.

Thank you. After a lot of being unkind to myself it was nice today to just be.

That sounds like a brilliant run EB43. Well done for getting out there in the snow. It’s funny how some runs make you smile all the way. 😊🏃‍♂️
