Running at a more relaxed pace👍 and a first time out in the Sauconys.....

Locked down, but still able to get out for exercise phew.. the wet weather that was expected didn't materialize, it was just chilly-damp and with a spec of mizzle now and again.

Not a soul to be seen, well just one socially distancing squirrel, the visitors have all gone away.

Had to have a word with my legs and check my pace, slowwwww down it's working so far running is so much easier, yes it's probably not as testing on my ability but in the long term I'm hoping it'll add greater benefits 🤞.

The initial feedback from from my feet, it took a while there's a gap of 6' from feet to brain 🤓.... They're definitely I would say springier but stiffer at the same time. I did briefly feel a tad clunky in them but this passed as I settled in. I'd say the grips are better than my adrenalines,!

I'd only planned to go out do a 5k but got sidetracked and felt comfortable so doubled it up without any great effort, this slower pacing does give you another dimension 👍 my run ended nicely with slightly quicker tenth and final klm and pleasingly the aqueduct was isolated just me and the leaves in the water..... Kinda nice to wrap up a week with run that felt really good.........

Hope you've all had great runs today,

Well done on your 10K. You are so lucky, what a beautiful route to run along.

Cheers and thanks damienair, I guess you're right......... BUT whilst the area is so picturesque it's soooooo hazardous, for example I had to deliver the youngest daughters friend home the other night, it's literally a stone's throw, over the hill, around the bend few lanes and you're there 😬🤯🤔.... Then add the issues no phone coverage, satnav zip, a severe absence of Street lights....... Lost quite spectacularly 😱 but if I can ever find that part of the world again..... What a running venue it was so away from it all and free of life-clutter....

Luckily my towpaths have good signage 🙃

Thanks GrannyH, it was a super Friday run, it still amazes me the simplicity of the run, and how rewarding it is 👍

Great run and cracking route Imc50. Sounds like you had the place to yourself and great the new shoes worked out for you. Happy running 😊

in reply toBuddy34

Thanks Buddy34, lockdown is with at least one benefit, bit wary of stepping into a new brand of shoe, but so all's good 👍

It sounds like your new shoes are a success. I too have found I prefer the Saucony to the new Adrenaline GTS 20s. I don’t think they are as supportive as they were before.

Happy running

in reply toDexy5

Cheers Dexy5 I was a tad suspicious of buying shoes I couldn't pronounce 🤭 my adrenalines were my first running shoes and it'll be a big as to equal them..... We'll see

I’ve just switched to Saucony from ASICS Kayano and find them fabulous in every respect grip, support, comfort. I just wish they looked a bit more colourful, but at least they won’t look as dirty as some!

in reply toMill1962

Cheers Mill1962, the grip was definitely better... Comfort 🤨 not convinced as yet

Lovely route and I love reading others descriptions of weather. I imagine it’s what we Scots would call smurring. Gets you wet but can’t really see it! Also love that you casually doubled up! Well done

in reply toSybilw

Smurring, great terminology Sybilw..... That oozes scottishness 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We’ve lots of descriptions of weather - most of it bad!! 😆

in reply toSybilw

👍 I'm sure there's many random Welsh terms but most unpronounceable 🤐

I can’t spell any of the Scottish ones - never saw them written down! 🤷‍♀️
