I'm on my second run of the magic 10k and today was the easiest day to fit the long one in.
I'm a bit out of kilter due to night shifts and planned to go earlier but it just didn't happen so I resorted to my next favourite time in late afternoon.
There was a light drizzle when I started which got heavier and really refreshing, can't believe it's my first run in the rain and very enjoyable.
I stuck to the path on the playing fields just in case my trainers didn't cope with wet grass but got bored after three laps and ran back up the hill. Only a few weeks ago running uphill was a real struggle so it's amazing to see how my legs are responding now.
Finished in the park, I was tired but it felt doable with a few pep talks in my head! During the last few minutes my legs started giving me promises of all sorts of pain to come...
It's only an extra 0.5k but I feel stupidly proud of myself!
Thanks to all of you lovely people for this supportive forum and to The National for the inspiring lyrics "it takes an ocean not to break" which spurred me on today.
Happy running! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
