Hi all

Any advice? Ran 5k yesterday scoping out a route for my virtual race for life on Saturday and had 5.25 k on fitbit and 5k on Strava. Also Strava measured 2 identical runs as different lengths the other day😩

Looking like its time to upgrade the technology

Looking at vivoactive 4s,forerunner 4s or forerunner245.

Dont think i need music cause i will have phone with me anyway.

Just checked can get fab discount on blue light card.

I am a libran and cant make decisions on a good day🤣🤣🤣

The inaccuracy has my head battered🤯

Getting a tracker with dedicated gps apparently improves accuracy as phone gps sensors aren't so good. I have a forerunner 45s which I like, doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other models but does the job nicely for running.

Like you, I had some very skew-whiff results with the free Strava app. It hilariously gave me stats an Olympian would have struggled to achieve on a couple of runs!

I'm a Libran too and did loads of research about runner's watches, including asking everyone on here for their advice (overwhelmingly in favour of Garmin), before finally purchasing my Forerunner 45s in iris blue. I love it and would buy it again tomorrow.

Yes sat comparing atm. Love the powder grey vivoactive but trying to decide whether the extra £50 is worth it? Cant decide which colour I prefer in the forerunner! Nice problem to have tho x

I found free Strava to be very accurate but I suspect that's because I just upgraded my phone. Two different Samsung fitness watches were wildly inaccurate even with one of them supposedly having built in GPS.

Got the Forerunner 45S a few weeks ago and love it. Enough bells and whistles in the app to make me happy. Not so many that I couldn't figure it out. And spot on accurate in terms of distance. The same run logs the same distance every time, and matches the mapping on Google maps.

I thought about getting a watch with MP3 storage, but realized that I am going to carry my phone anyway...I had a bad fall while walking the dog a year ago and was glad to be able to call home to be picked up! I listen to an audio book while I run (or nothing) - music messes up my cadence, and is not really my thing anyway. So I need the Kindle app on the phone anyway.

I got black because it goes with everything and the battery lasts for days on end. So I am now wearing it as my regular watch as well.

I had the same struggle. The tipping point was a friend has the 45S. And I like that it looks a lot like a normal watch.
