After Thursday's success, I decided to mix up the surfaces again today, starting and finishing on a grass track, and straying off-tarmac on a few more occasions. Slow and steady was the order of the day, kept the pace down to about 6.45/km, trying to think about what I was doing today rather than just blanking everything out and going. Trying to think about foot placement, breathing, concentrating on the run. And, it seemed to work, the last couple of k were significantly easier than last Saturday, and I actually managed to keep going for a few metres after Ms Strava gave me the 8km alert, until my tracker clicked over to 5 miles.
No PRs, but a "longest run" banner from Strava, and hopefully another one next Saturday when I do that extra km to bring it up to 9!
