Wow, great pace! I’ve just read a few of your older posts and I think you’re me! I’ve had so many of the same thoughts! Like why am I doing this and why is it still such a struggle? And WHY am I going backwards!!!??? I “graduated” C25K back in June but that was just to get me to 30 minutes, I was (still am) so slow I was only at about 3.8k in those 30 minutes. I pushed and pushed myself, even though I was tired of pushing myself!!! And finally got to 5K (in 40 minutes) and then tried to get to 10k. I’ve been up to 7k, got interrupted in my training by a minor medical issue, and here I am back to struggling to reach 5k, again. My last run was 5k, today I’m hoping for another 5k, then I’m going to start trying to increase that again. At least it’s cooler weather! I’m in Texas so the summer has been brutal with the 90-100F degree weather. Today it’s only 72F (22C) so that’s a huge difference. I’m hoping as it cools off my runs will get easier.
Anyway great to hear you’re back on track!
Wow! We do have very similar stories. Oh my! I was close to 7k but the heat in the summer slowed me down. I am now using a running coach app in my Samsung Health on my smartwatch. I'm going to slow down again. Basically I'm running slower but longer. I like it that way and I enjoy the coach in my ear😂 It's been a long journey. Lot's of support in this group!! Now that I'm back at work I'm just going to run 3 days a week for an hour roughly to complete 5km. Someone said on this site that you have to enjoy your runs. That's what I'm going to do. Slow down, enjoy with no goal in sight. My goal was to complete 5k, I did that, now I'm just going to enjoy running for running and the stress relief. I'm focusing on losing weight right now, so one thing at a time. I'm going to follow you! Us runners have to look out for one another.😊👍
