Week 2 of the Magic Plan. Monday's 3k went well with (slow) negative splits. Thursday was awful. Set out to do 5k and couldn't. 99% humidity, tired, maybe not enough water. Ended up doing 3k.

Thought about catching up the 5k today. But drank 2.5L of water yesterday, slept 8.5 hours last night, 65% humidity and nice and cool. I had to go for it. I swear blind that the the trail was uphill in both directions, although Garmin tells me it wasn't. But I did it. Albeit slowly (8:40/k). OMG. I did it. 6k. Legs are very tired, and I can't be bothered to get off the sofa now, except I'm considering getting in the car to go and acquire some celebratory ice cream. But I DID IT! 6 months ago I could barely run 100 yards.

Congrats! I know what you mean, I used to tell people I "couldn't" run. Still amaze myself with every run. Well done!😊

I still catch myself thinking "there's no way I can run. My knees won't let me. My hips won't let me. My lungs won't let me." And then I go and do it! Have never been a runner. Last tried 25 years ago! I did work up to riding a bike long distance but that's a different kind of fitness I think. And it was in the dim distant past anyway.

You did it!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Yah! Feels epic doesn't it! I'm at the same point in the plan as you and trying not to think about the looming 7k though!

I figure I've got a couple of runs that will feel easier first 😀 5k on Monday and then 3.5k on Wednesday (if I can manage it after a brutal work day on Tuesday) or Thursday. So there's a whole week to build up the resolve again!! 🏃🎽🏆

Well done! I know what you mean about uphill in both directions!! 🤣 It works both ways though because I found a 5k route that felt vey manageable and didn’t feel it was downhill at any point. With that in mind (it couldn’t feel uphill in reverse) I had an ideal 10k route. It worked. Wasn’t easy but I did get a pb - bearing in mind I’ve only done about 3. There’s a route like that near you I’m sure. Hope you find it.
