Running alone

Well that was a strange one

Poor Willow couldn’t run because he hurt his knee. I keep telling him smoking is dangerous 😂

He was sitting on the windowsill smoking and when he got up he caught his foot on the corner of the sofa and twisted his knee which is a horrible thing to do

He said he’d come with me and walk, but he didn’t get far before he had to admit defeat

Our track was full of families so I ran round the grass and when i got bored with that i ran round the river but it’s Sunday afternoon and so many families were there, when I got to the bridge there were 7 people on it and i couldn’t run through them so went up the slope over the grass and down the other side, i was enjoying myself although feeling quite lonely when my foot went down a rabbit hole 🐇 but the rabbit gods were on my side and apart from a sharp twinge all was ok so i plodded on

I went to work at 2pm yesterday and came home at 3pm today only to find the milk had gone off so ran without rest or even a cup of tea, crikey get the violins out but i’m a happy bunny 🐰 because run 1 week 5 of the 10k plan and still running

Now I have 2 days off so rest and relaxation

Happy Sunday everyone

Great getting out on your own, poor Willow though. I hope your ankle remains pain free. I went over mine on my run at 8:30 this morning. Forgot all about it until an hour ago. It is currently agony. May need to give it some tlc. Happy running 🤗

Been icing for an hour, cant walk on it. Weird how it was fine for running a further 5k, making lunch for 7 people and it was only 7hrs later it got swollen and very painful. At least I dont have to cook tonight🤣

Oh, poor Willow. Hope his ankle feels better soon. You better stay away from rabbit holes in case you end up in the same boat!

I also hope you have sorted out the milk crisis and have managed your well deserved cup of tea? 🤗

I thought Willow had stopped smoking, well done on your run after working for 24 hours, sorry about your milk going off, happy Sunday to you.

No only me Sola stopped smoking, there were rumblings that he would but it never came about,

The run is on the plan so i didn’t have a choice did I?

Good on you for getting out for a run on your own even after a very very long shift. I hope Willow recovers soon 🤗

Oh my! What an adventure Sola. Watch out for those rabbit holes don't want you to fall down one like Alice. Poor Willow would have to be the Mad Hatter☺️.

Hope his knee gets better soon🤞enjoy your well deserved break👍

Sleep hot baths and seeing daughter, spending the whole day with Willow and getting my 🎷 sax out to make music what more would a girl want? I am so lucky and know it

Allbarron profile image
Allbarron60minGraduate in reply to SueAppleRun

Sounds idyllic. I love the saxophone. My son had played from the age of 11. Enjoy😉

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Allbarron

Thanks, I’m not sure i always love my sax 🎷 but it gives me a sense of satisfaction that i can make music, it’s not easy for me, Willow on the other hand can play most things apart from wind instruments so he plays something else and I blow

One sad thing about this year is singing and wind instruments are now banned in public which means he can no longer come to my work on a Saturday night and sing and play music with the people who live there and I can’t take my sax to work and play..... mind you last night I did hold a bit of a socially distancing behind my mask sing song lol because I forgot

This run had all sorts in and you got through once again. 5 weeks in...keep going! Rest up now and hopefully Willow recovers well too.

After dinner i fell asleep on the sofa now i can be rested and full of excitement for the days off, Willow will heal he just might have to take a break from running for a little while

Willow should definitely stop smoking ( as no doubt he knows) in order to keep up with you :)

Oh dear what a pair you are! I hope Willow’s knee is OK and that you don’t suffer any ill effects from falling down a hole! How did you find running on your own, after all that? I’ve never done anything else but quite enjoy it!

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Oldgirlruns

Thanks

It was a bit lonely at times, which is strange because we start together and meet up at the end but are different speeds so don’t always run next to each other , but I’d be happy to run alone if Willow ever decides to give up running

Oldgirlruns profile image
OldgirlrunsGraduate10 in reply to SueAppleRun

I hope that won’t be for a while yet! Enjoy your time off!

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Oldgirlruns

When we first started Willow struggled with his knee, hence the ridiculously expensive trainers and he hasn’t had too many problems, he’s caught his foot on the corner of the sofa a couple of times and twisted his knee, in some ways he’s more competitive than i am, i would just plod further and further slower and slower but he wants to keep beating our times so i can’t see him giving up anytime soon

Time off is precious my job is so busy and i often work late and bring work home so we really enjoy time off together

Great job WillowandSola!! 🤗 So sorry Willow has been injured. I hope he’s not off his feet for too long.

Well done for your run too. It sounds as though there were many obstacles, but you got through them...literally! 🤗❤️

He’s moving much easier so is coming out tomorrow thanks, we will take slow running to new levels and see what happens, he can always walk or sit on a bench for part of it
