So I’ve officially got two 5ks under my belt. I’d been awake since 4 (thank you Scottish weather!) and was definitely in for a slouchy type of run today. Wasn’t aiming for a distance though obv the 5k is always in my mind as it’s such a recent achievement. Started off slowly slowly and really REALLY enjoyed the first 20 minutes. If there had been a mirror handy I’d have had to check to make sure I was still me 😄 And then 30 minutes arrived and I thought I’d just keep going and ended up running for 50 minutes! This is outrageous behaviour from me! I recorded my warm up and cool down separately so it really was all running. Distance just shy of 6k. I’m 5ft so I’m never going to break records with speed.
So all of a sudden I’m really looking forward to Ju-Ju’s September plan. If you’ve read this far do you think I should concentrate on running for 60 mins or aiming for 10k? My instinct is loud and clear for the 60 minutes but that doesn’t feel so out of reach now and I would love to pick up pace.
Anyway - 50 minutes! (Currently lying on the couch with throbbing legs!)
