In France! And a local Lakerun.

Although we know we’ll have to isolate on our return, we braved the barbed wire and armed guards (lol) in Brittany and drove down in a leisurely fashion to the South over 3 days.

Distancing and mask wearing were generally well respected in all the places we visited.

Gosh, it’s hot so I did my first run in 6 days this morning at daybreak when it was a mere 20C. Very enjoyable and the gradients I used to find so tiring were easy after my 6 months of hill training.

Even better news is that some local Brits have organised a non official run every Sunday morning three times round a local lake called (strangely) Lakerun. I reckon it’ll be 6km. Apparently, the French authorities got so officious with wanting medical certificates to instate a proper Parkrun that a collective decision was made “let’s just do it”, no placings or official timings. Just fun. 9 am on Sundays at the St Jean Pla de Corts lakes if anyone’s in the 66 department.
