Tough 6k today, even at 6am it was so humid, TinyTears60 Toilet Gremlin slowed me down, but eventually got through the door......started ok nice and steady but it got progressively harder, plodded on though and was determined not too stop at all costs.
Towards the end of it I was feeling hot and knackered.....it was jogging Jim but not as we know it.....I was so glad to hear Coach Bennett cheery voice say ‘you’ve done it’.......I think that’s what he said, it was all a blur and I was a bath of sweat.
However......I looked at the time not expecting it to be good and it read 40:47 😮which was quicker than Monday’s time of 42:01 🤷♂️ it didn’t feel quicker, how did that happen! but maybe I set off quicker at the beginning ?? either way I’ll take that thank you very much 👍.
🏃♂️Next time if it’s cooler might even get a sub 40m 6k.....that would be nice ! 🏃♂️

Smashing it! Well done, I've just done W3 R2 and I am struggling with 3 mins, dont think I will ever get where you are! I'm blaming the 28 degrees at 4pm. So hoping I can improve when it gets cooler. Still onwards and upwards, looking on the positive side, my knees are still doing ok.🏃♀️
That’s great news JoggingT, 👍 I’m pleased to hear your niggley knees are behaving and you’ve resumed your running, it’s a bit hot out there at the moment. I struggled with 60 seconds when I started, stick with it. Maybe you need new running shoes to soak up the impact on your knees more 🤔
Hey Couchphoenix, I'm waiting a little longer before forking out for a good pair, seems the ones I have now are good for running, and I have a special insole in them, so fingers crossed my knees are hanging in there! I just need to tackle this heat! Wow it's hot! You are smashing it, i like to hear your progress, you are my inspiration to carry on. Keep at it! 🏃♂️💨💨💨💨
Thanks TotalNewbie1, you never can tell can you. The humidity does make a huge difference. Still enjoying it though and the high it gives me for the rest of the day, something I never thought I’d say!
Hi SammiN3, I’m using the Nike Run Club App, I looked at that plan but decided to just gradually increase distance instead. The Nike Running Club app has guided runs of all different lengths and times, it’s free too, which is good.....give it a go it’s really good.
Awww thank you 🙏 TT60 I wish you hadn’t shared the loo gremlin, you can keep him! It was damn hot today 🥵 but at least we got out there and got it done......we must be nuts 🤪
Well done for getting through the run in this humidity... outside of heat (sun), humidity is my nemesis! Good time as well ... all in all I suggest I well deserved pay on the back is warranted !
Cheers PlymBorn, even going out at 6am it’s humid, but it’s a nice surprise to discover an improvement in your time that you weren’t expecting, makes all that effort worthwhile.
I reckon it's to do first and foremost with your fitness improving!! But from my point of view, I always find my runs clock far better times with Coach B on board. So motivating and makes you forget your heart rate lol!!
I agree Squidge1504 he says I’ll check in with you again at a certain point and it kind of pushes you on....clever stuff, I was surprised at that improved time though and pleased....set me up for the day 😁
