Does 2 * 22 mins = 44 mins ?!?

Genuine question - I’m in week 2 of consolidation and have been following the C25k+ podcasts (stepping stones, speed and stamina). Have to say I loved them all, speed and stamina in particular. I’ve been clocking up runs of up to 40 mins, though the ‘speed’ app is quite short I allowed myself the shorter length because the effort was proportionate and I trust the plan ! Anyway I thought now I’d start juju’s plan and aim for 60 mins by end sept - seems reasonable right ? And decided to follow the ‘Speed’ podcast for the first short run of the week. But I was frustrated by how short it was and easier than last week ! After cool down I sat around in the park for a bit enjoying the morning sun - it’s weekend after all - and after about half an hour’s rest i (perhaps crazily) decided to repeat the run to the speed podcast. It wasn’t hugely harder than the first time - I even ran through the 5 min cool down (and added my own 15 minute cool down onto the end). It means today I did 2 * 22 mins runs. I know that’s not equivalent to doing 44 mins in one go, but .... my question is on the impact of doing this. I see lots of advice on here not to overdo it, or to trust your body, or to shake it up, stick to the plan, free yourself from the plan, etc !! I feel like I’ve potentially done all those things (but no idea what to record it as on the plan !!). I did warm up and cool down both times. I guess I won’t know if I overdid it till tomorrow ? I always stick to the rest day principle and will do so tomorrow aswell. Any thoughts ?

My thoughts are that as long as it wasn’t hurting it was fine to do it twice, so a well done from me

Pushing yourself too hard or being too ambitious at this stage could risk injury so no pushing to the limit of time it speed but i’m immensely impressed

Thanks ! I think I’ve only just come to terms with the fact that I’m quite slow and have given up the goal of 5k in 30 mins and therefore feel I need to compensate with length of time and stamina. I enjoyed the ‘speed’ podcast not because I want to increase speed but because it felt great ! I’ll try to keep ambitions in check !

A great couple of runs today. Record it however you like, the run police wont be chasing you. The main thing is you enjoyed them, that's a winning combination in my book. Happy running 🤗

I love the image of the run police !! There was actually a helicopter hovering over the park this morning and it did cross my mind they were observing me 🤣.
