So grrrr I'm back on the IC π€¬π€¬π€¬π€¬ the physio warned that if I did too many of my one legged squats I could inflame the tendon... well I really thought I was taking it easy... nowhere near 3 sets of 10 and only 3 times a week but I seem to have inflamed the tendon in my hip. So on ice and a couple of days of anti-inflammatories to calm it down. Reduced to hobbling at the moment. Been feeling so fed up this morning as it should have been my early morning run today but then read MartinKH far more positive injury post so gave myself a good talking to!!

So sorry to hear this Mum22boys, I only just just responded to your kind reply to me and then saw this post.
It's totally understandable to be fed up when you initially find out you're back on the IC.
I would be (and have been) exactly the same.
It shows you really care and enjoy your running, which in the big scheme of things is a great thing.
Hopefully some ice, rest, and a few days of anti-inflammatories will help you to a quick recovery.

Oh no, bad luck. But you know what you're dealing with! Hope- hmmm, mine is a bit niggly after yesterday's run. The clamshell exercises hurt a bit. It's about getting balance isn't it!

It's so frustrating isn't it!! Are you managing to get any treatment/ strengthening exercises??
I had physio for about 2 months and things were improving but then lockdown happened and only telephone consults possible. They were pointless really, so I stopped them. I canβt help but think itβs an age thing as itβs gone on so long! Maybe need to see the doc again...... Fingers crossed some rest will see you back soon π

Oh, that's really rotten and frustrating. Hopefully a few days more rest and RICEing will see you on the mend. At least you get to avoid running in the heat...... π₯΅. Hopefully the temperatures will be a bit lower by the time you are ready to do a test run. βΊοΈ

Oh no, I hadnβt seen this when you responded to my post. Good luck on the IC and do follow physioβs advice. Just as one person gets off that couch someone else comes along to fill it up again . Grrrr.
We all seem to be in the wars or just emerging from them at the moment. I wouldnβt tell my physio about the excess squats....the βI told you soβ look hurts far more than the injury!π
Glad that you're emerging from it.. hope the slow and steady is still working. I seem to be hopping on and off it far too much at the moment.. I genuinely thought I was being careful... obviously need to be more so π
Aw, so sorry to read that. Hopefully though, a few days should see it over? Might be an idea to talk to the physio again, especially if you werenβt overdoing it but the still got annoyed?

Ah thank you π ice and ibuprofen are doing some good. Now just feel a but achy and bruised rather than pain. I have an increasing desire for trail running and some wild swimming (don't know where that's come from?!) So might day dream about that for a while π
