Hello, my little injury couch!

My soleus calf muscle has been getting worse over the last week or so, as described in a post over at healthunlocked.com/strength... .

I’m not sure what I did to it, but it is still aching and I hobble a little when walking, as stretching it seems to give me an achy pain.

So I’m going to give it a rest for a week, to see if it gets better. If not, then it will be a trip to the physio.

Strangely rowing feels completely ok, but I’m not sure if I’m aggravating an inflammation when keeping on moving, so not sure what to do there.

Annoying. So here I am, again! On the injury couch!

Oh, no, CBDB ! So sorry to read you're hitting the injury couch! I wish you a quick recovery!!!

My niggling soleus got a bit worse after the first day of doing those stretches, so yesterday I did fewer of them and it seems to have helped. It's not complaining today 🥳 which is different from before learning about the soleus thanks to your post, so thank you again for it!

yes, I’ll have to take it easy on the soleus, and walking seems to also aggravate it. But walking is such an ever present activity! 🙁

And thanks for the thanks! 😊

I know the soleus muscle well CBDB. It was the cause of my first visit to the injury couch and the physio after getting carried away at parkrun a few weeks after c25k graduation. The exercises really work .
