Just finished Day 4 of my August quest, which is to keep on doing home exercising and get back to regular running. So, I started a running plan on my App!
Well, today it went all kinds of wrong for me π€―, but I carried on. I was meant to do 6 sessions of 200 Mtrs at high speed. I started off going for it!! Numbers were in the region of 5.1 for pace. Then, I was pondering how long 200 mtrs really is, because it started to feel a bit tough. Then oooh isnβt it the next lap yet? I was still on lap 1.
So thinking itβs a guided run of some description π, and I must have missed the buzz to say your 200mtrs is done. I pressed lap 2 and went again, but same thing (No buzz, no idea how far Iβd run π€ͺ). I started to guess the 200 mtrs and press the next lap myself, because the distance doesnβt reset when you press for a new lap either.
I did it, but with quite a bit of frustration π£. I was settled by the last round though!! πππ What that is going to tell my App coach?.....God knows! I went out, I guess! β
The quest is still in tact and thatβs what matters most!!

Oh Fabulous, I admire you! My brain has gone into a confused meltdown π€ͺ! I find all the times/stats/laps so confusing because I haven't tried anything like intervals yet, or any other app apart from C25k for that matter, although it is on my to do list for later on.
I shall follow your posts in the hope that you can help me to start understanding how it works π. Which app are you using btw? I have a Garmin watch so I know I have plans to access via that at some point.

You know what?....itβs all about being loose and free for me. And along the way, Iβve just had some very nice βwhoβs that girl?β surprises π! I just love that I can do it, every time I go out there. Iβm not always too sure about that before I go out there either π΅, so it really is a win every time! ππ½ With a plan you can get more and more excited every time I go!! Well thatβs the plan at the moment anyway! π
Iβm using Nikeβs NRC app! Itβs usually very good for me, but I have had some runs that have been a bit π€¨! And....this was one of them. Though π€....I wouldnβt rule out this being totally human error!! π
Proof, you really donβt have to be perfect to run! Go for it and enjoy!! πβ€οΈ

Yay well done, even if it didn't go as planned, it looks like you had a great workout! πͺ I've only ever tried setting something up on runkeeper once and it went all sorts of weird so now I do random fartlek if I want to go for intervals - a lot easier without tech ππ

Do I call you Maverick now? Great job getting it done. For reasons unknown theyβve never put alerts in this one... I find it best to measure out the required distance before I start the run... 200m is a lot further than we imagine, I find it the hardest distance to visualise... but now in now itβs from one side of the local duck pond at the bench, the the one on the other side, and the rest is long enough to walk round to the start again.

I almost got that right. Actually, I think I tried to run 200 mtrs on one sports day.....Letβs not talk about it!! π€£πβ€οΈ
I got put in the 100m by my housemaster for some reason... we lost that, and the 1500 & 3000 that Iβd spent years training for... donβt think he wanted to win that cup π€£
Thanks so much WillowandSola!! π€ Yes, Iβd need a very different kind of skill to run high speed (my high speed!π) and keep an eye on how far Iβve run too. Could get messy!! πβ€οΈ
How bizarre and frustrating! But hey, you got out there so are definitely the winner π! Hope the app behaved itself next time. I'm waiting for some Afterschokz to arrive in the hope that I might try an app or listen to podcasts to distract me from how far or fast (slow!) I'm going. π

Thereβs definitely a little glitch in the experience when you just press start and do the planned runs. Apart from the start there was nothing more. No buzz, no keep going, no well done!

Iβm sure the Afterschoks will be great. I havenβt progressed to naked runs on purpose. Thatβs only happened when I failed to charge up fully. But, I soon learnt!! ππ!! Ah itβs all part of the adventure Slinkymalinki!! Good run, rubbish run, itβs a run!! I can always smile (and laugh) at that!!
