Itβs run day! ππ½ππ½π The winter running plan of action is going well!
Up and ready....no fuss....no faff π! Checked the tech! iPhone charged? β (well not really....but enough βΊοΈ), headphones charged? β ! Sun rising? β Time to go! π€
5 minute warm up walk...lots of traffic!π Not my favourite bit, but it makes me stride a bit more purposefully. Looking like I know what Iβm doing! π I head off running down the side streets after the warm up walk.
I had a pretty strong run today. There was some drizzle and at one point I was running straight into it with the wind blowing in my face, but I surprised myself a bit, as it didnβt deter me. Bring it on..... Iβm running! π Whoβs that girl? π―
I had to start coaching myself; wondering if I was going too fast and maybe risking burning out near the end? π€ I felt ok, but decided to settle myself down. Better to complete feeling strong, as itβs supposed to be a 2k βrecovery runβ, according to my app and Iβve got a 5k tomorrow....π€¨π...π!
Great job.. congrats on the year best km time too. You should try to keep the pace down, you know, just like me π€£, but if itβs comfortable itβs comfortable!
No faffage, devices charged (enough), running in the wet stuff... Who are you? Can you please give our Fab her account back? π€£
Thank you so much UNM!! π€π€! And thanks for always keeping me going (with the tech reminders tooπ)! π€ I was a bit scared that it felt comfortable, so I did pull back a bit. Just in time for the drizzle blowing in the faceππ½! We shall see what tomorrow brings! πβ€οΈ
Well done Fab. Faced with the same problem yesterday. Had to run or it would have thrown out the whole week. Chucking it down as we say up here, but 6k and a hot shower later and all was well! We must be a touch crazy thoughπ€ͺ
Thanks so much Grannytobe! π€ Yes, today, I thought do your best, Iβm on it! Iβve got to entertain myself sometimes or it has way too much influence!ππβ€οΈ
The drizzle helps to keep me cool. Though Iβd rather it wasnβt blowing in the face! π
Running in the morning is working out well for me. I get so caught up with things to do and I donβt have the discipline (and often the opportunity) to stop and go for a run in the day. If I do, I find it difficult to get back into the to do list. I donβt enjoy running in the dark either. So, I run in the morning to make sure thereβs no catch 22 (for now at least). πβ€οΈ
Really good to get it out of the way early, apart from days off we run when i get in from work, i often arrive home thinking not today then there is Willow all ready to go with my cup of tea ready to drink while i change
The funny thing i find is we go out with me saying just a little way today but once i get started i just want to keep going and that has improved our stamina as 5k albeit slow is easily achievable even if we walk the last k or go look at the sea,
Although my two sons run as part of their own sports training, I started this journey on my own (Iβd never be able to keep up with them anyway! π²π π½ββοΈ). One of my sons did the Prospect Charity Run The Rainbow with me last year! It was brilliant and so special doing it together.
The rest of the time, I run alone, so little gremlin slaying tricks come in very handyπ! β€οΈ
I can only keep up with Willow lol although my grandson runs sometimes but he finds he needs lots of rest days and one of Willows daughters came once and managed 2 minutes then spent the rest of the time saying how impressed she was which boosts our confidence no end
