A whimsical thought

Back off the IC after the shortest of whiles. My lower back twinge has gone and heel blister was well bound with Elastoplast and double socks.

Anyway, I tried a new 11km six hill run first thing this morning. A lovely day and minimal traffic. From home to the wonderfully named Pendogget and back.

It occurred to me at the end “hey! I just ran a quarter of a marathon!”

Such a beautiful morning at 6 am. Just me, the sunshine, cows, sheep, rabbits and six ruddy hills. ☀️🐄🐑🐇⛰⛰⛰⛰⛰⛰

Great you're back out running and a 11k 6 hill route. Brilliant 👏💪💪

It was only 3 days off but it’s good to get back there. Before lockdown hills were the worst thing in running for me. They’re still not easy but I’m much happier with them now. 👍

Brilliant way to look at your run today. I ran 4 consecutive 11ks as part of the 2.6 challenge to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland earlier in the year. Everyone was impressed when I said I was running a marathon 🤣🤣 happy running 🤗

Thank you. In-laws had both been diagnosed with covid in their care home that week so was running for them, such an incentive as mother-in-law has Alzheimers. Both well thankfully and loads of money raised.🤗

I feel for you. My dad caught Covid at home and died of complications after recovering. I think of him as I run.

So sorry to hear this. It's been a truly awful time for the elderly and infirm. We are so lucky to be able to run

Let’s start a “Hills are My Friends” club, S39. After the third hill I feel them a lot less.

The trick is to run up a hill saying “this hill is my friend “. Through gritted teeth. 😬

I will try that 👍

Yes, some evil little fairy is whispering that I should try a marathon. Is there a training programme from HM to the Full Monty?

Don't ask me - I'm still trying to get to 10k. 🤣🤣 I think there's a mara forum though - no doubt there will be info on there?
